When my EVO is connected to the factory bluetooth on my 2008 Mercedes C-Class....my virtual voice mail will NOT play through the speaker on the back of the EVO. I KNOW that it won't play through the car's speakers or any bluetooth headset, but somehow the car prevents it from playing through the speaker on the back of the EVO. When I turn the bluetooth off...it plays fine. It will however play through the earpiece. Why would it block the speakerphone on the back of the EVO?

Is this happening with other people who connect to a car's factory bluetooth?

TIA

It plays through on my Acura and BMW's bluetooth through the car speakers did you hit the menu button and try switching to the car or speaker?

You are saying that "virtual voicemails" play through your car's speakers? Are you sure? My phone works perfectly with my car...but "virtual voicemails" don't play through the cars speaker or the speaker on the EVO. I don't think you read my post correctly, so would you please confirm that "virtual voicemails" play through your cars speakers.

Thanks

I have an 08 with P2, Get used to the bluetooth sucking on the car... Its just out of date and a closed system. I have the latest update on it after having issues with the entire system freezing when changing between FM and Sat radio but no change in the bluetooth features ect.

I will try it on the 2010 C I have also, the system seems to be update quite a lot from in the 08, it also is supposed to include display of text message and possible voice response, just like the european version of the 08 C class with multimedia has had. Ill let you know if it transfers the contracts also.

I asked about updating my 08 to the 10 setting but they said no go... Despite my 08 having tele aid ect, and my 10 not the 10 gets live traffic on the Nav.

The bluetooth on my 2008 is PERFECT. Works GREAT with NO PROBLEMS. Everyone can hear me fine and i hear them perfectly.

The problem is with how it stops the EVO speakerphone from working while connected via bluetooth.

SOMEONE WITH FACTORY BLUETOOTH on ANY CAR....what happens when you are connected to the EVO and you try to play a VIRTUAL VOICEMAIL?

Does it play through the car's speakers?

Does it play through the EVO speakerphone when you hit the speakerphone button?

Everyone..chime in please so I can figure out what is going on.

Thanks

Hello, I actually work for Benz as a technician. Honestly we don't deal with phones as much as we used to before Bluetooth became the standard for auto use. So I can't answer you off hand how this is supposed to work. But from what I recall you should have voicemail through your car. Not sure how the evo and visual voicemail will work.

I thought the visual voicemail on my old Instict would play through the cars just fine, not sure tho. What I can tell you is that on my evo the visual voicemail DOES play through my stereo Bluetooth headphones without any special setup. I use the nokia BH-503 for reference.

Ok, I may have lied on this special setup. Before I had my bluetooth headphones I was looking at my settings and under settings - call , I found a setting for voicemail service. If you have not downloaded any voicemail apps like me then there is only one setting. It's called my carrier, mine was unchecked from the factory so I checked it. I am not able to uncheck this now. Maybe you should check this setting and see if it changes anything.

Being a tech I don't drive newer cars so I have to wait until I get to work to do a test run for you. Note: my shop is currently doing a remodel and I'm working an evening shift. Things are a mess there right now so i may forget. Feel free to pm me a reminder on monday or something and i'll check how my Evo works in a couple of cars for you.

Confirmed, in my case the Virtual voicemail will play through both cars.
