thank you plainbrad, for stating common sense.

I'm tired of people looking at this phone for flaws that aren't really flaws.

Everything thing from "dust in your screen" to "its not the fastest phone around"

Its like seriously?!?!

maybe you should go back to your old cellphones before android or iphones.

I maybe people should get screen protectors so "dust wont go in" and maybe people should wait till they can afford the fastest phone on the market.

Its a good phone and I love it!

a $429 device that creaks and can get dust under the scream? sounds like some big flaws to me

The MT3G Slide has many flaws in the construction. If you compare it to the Droid, the difference is obvious. The MT3G feels like a cheap piece of plastic whereas the Droid feels like a rock.

Some people are less picky than others, but when you pay for something like this, most of us expect to get someone of quality in return. That's why I returned mine.

I was thinking about it last night. and I figured that I don't want my phone to feel like something that can take hard falls.. I like that this phone feels like a delicate electronic device.

I want to drive the Austin Martin, It looks great and runs fast, But I know I can't take it off road like a Ford F-150 pick up truck.. On is built to take abuse the, Other one is built to make you look good.

If it feels so cheap then why did any of you buy it? didn't you handle the phone and play with it before you forked out the $429?? I sure as hell did... and yes its not the absolute most solid feeling phone in the world... cliq feels a bit more solid but this phone is wayyyy better than that POS.

It almost seems that so many of you just bought it so you could talk sh*t.... raise your hands if you're still in high school!!

If you want a moto droid then GO GET A DROID AND QUIT WHINING

personally I will never buy another motorola again because of the bad experience with the cliq and will never buy another samsung phone again because I had both a behold and behold 2 and their lack of support is mind boggling.

Bottom line is this phone is cool and until there is actually something to whine about.... STOP:p

Whoever said they wanted a Droid? I was comparing it to the Droid because they are similar machines in regards to the processor speed and construction (slider with a physical keyboard).

This is just another example of shoddy construction by HTC.

I don't really think you can compare it to a droid as far as construction is concerned.... since thats what we're talking about.

The droid is bigger than the MTS and really ugly with its square boxy format. If HTC wanted to design the MTS to be a "rock" then they would have had to make it larger to accomodate thicker plastics and more bracing.

The only thing thats shoddy is the very outer layer of plastic and I bet you if they would have made it with a satin finish instead of high gloss, people would think differently. The tactile sensation of high gloss plastics tends to make people think 'cheap'

I don't really care what you wanna compare it to.... at least you had the balls to take it back instead of keeping it and bitching about how much you don't like it.

It's not just the outer plastic layer. The spring mechanism in the slider is junk (hence the countless amount of complaints regarding the wobbly slider) and was my biggest complaint. It felt like a cheap kids toy, and after testing a TMo employee's Slide and one that had just been opened in store, it was clearly a common problem.

The TMo rep tried to play it off as it being normal. I was only comparing that aspect of the Slide to the Droid. But yes, I did take mine back and am waiting for something better.

So I took the phone I can't afford back to Tmob and told the guy there's something wrong with the phone and I would like a DROID. He tells me they don't sell DROIDs and the price would be the same as the MTS anyway. So I asked to hold the MTS once again and decided that I would swap my brand new flawed MTS for another one even though I still can't afford it. I asked him to wrap it in a plastic bag after I dropped it like 3 times on the showroom floor and now it feels a lot more sturdy. The plastic bag makes all the difference in the world This one does not creak. Wife took hers back too and her new one is fine, especially with the plastic bag wrapped around it. How about them F***ing apples. I'll try not to drop my new phone a bunch of times this go-around so the bottom right corner doesn't come loose. My wife promised not to drop hers a bunch of times too. I hope this helps people who are experiencing the same problems with the MTS.

This might be the dumbest post of all time.

Only because you obviously have no life and you probably just sit at home in your mom's basement on your huge dual monitor PC with world of warcraft on one monitor and android forums on your other one reading every post in every thread in between killing elfs and casting spells. Now thats what I call multi-tasking!!!

I mean come on... 600+ posts since February? Don't be an asshole

Actually I'm a home owner and yes, I do have dual monitors. You don't? Fail.

People people, gosh

Lets all just take a deep breath here.

Now, to those of you who paid 400+ on the mts, and did NOT get a hands on feel for it beforehand, SHAME ON YOU! Didn't your momma teach you how to spend money!!!

For those of you who came from the behold II and are still complaining, SHAME ON YOU TOO!! You should feel relieved to have a good working phone, instead of that last crappy phone.

Most of us either fought the customer service for a new phone at a discounted price, or bought it at walmart (for a low price), or trade/sold our old phone to get this new one.

Everyone knows that if you jump at bait before you look around, you would be tomorrow nights supper.

Be happy of your mistake and take the lesson learned in your next effort to buy a phone that better suits your needs.

Trust me, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Every phone isn't perfect (which is why manufacturers are able to make updates to the phones)

and quit picking on SPIZ, can't you see his record, he gets more thanks than he posts so he's a good guy! and he knows what he's talking about! (sometimes lol jk)

Hey! Thanks :D

It's all good... my only concern is that while yes, I did come from the BH2 (sold mine on Craigs List), I still haven't lowered my standards on phones. I know for some, these are just phones, but for others like myself, it's more of a hobby.

Yes, this phone is infinitely better than the BH2. But it still has many flaws and I just wanted people to see that HTC is far from a perfect company. Samsung left us with a bad taste, but that doesn't mean that we should ignore the flaws of a different company when we're spending $400+ on a device. If they expect us to pay that much money, is it not okay for us to expect better quality? That's all.

And yes, I did play with mine prior to purchase. My issues (luckily) occurred about a week after my purchase, which is why I returned mine. So I'm entitled to slam this phone all I want! ;)

the only thing that bugs me is this, htc considers the evo problems as a minor flaw, now if you think about it does it suprise anyone to think that there going to use glossy plastic/cheaper materials? There a company and a company wants to make as much as a profit as they can and if we buy it we are to blame. I think if people showed companies that hey were only going to buy well made anything that they would only sell well made products.

I have owned a iphone 3g and a 3gs, a htc g1, mt3g .. and so on they all had there little flaws. I have a mt slide and i agree its not the best feeling phone but its not the worst either. and will i own the samung galaxy s ? Yes will it have its problems probably, but that's life enjoy what you have and pick what you buy wisely. After all we have the power to choose what a company will and wont get away with

Spoken like a true champ!

I don't care if the damn phone was made of plastic saran wrap, if it works and doesn't have software problems, and it does what it made to do, then I'm a happy camper.

But yes, I understand how you are hobbiest and how getting the latest and greatest phones raises your self esteem in order to make it through the day. I understand how it doesn't matter if you have the latest stable OS, or if you have a physical keyboard option, If a speck of dust is underneath the screen, or you hear any slight "Creeking" noise, the deal is off!

Its people like these that push people to innovate and fulfill the dreams of many.

I can sit here and just imagine your ancestors saying, "When is that mail going to come in, it takes way too long!! We need to get a faster horse or a better way of delivering messages"

or

"Darn mail, I want a new mail man, he delivered my mail with dust on the envelope"

This is of course before cellphones were created and when mail was delivered by men on horses.
