I'm getting 8 hours of *normal for me use before it hits 24% battery.
If I'm just watching videos I get 6 hours (lots of PodCast).

I'd love it if I could get 10hours, but I'm satisfied.
I've got a car charger for those long days away from home.

*No task killer, perma WiFi when home, background data on, auto sync on, no Friend Steam, or Twitter. I do have News and stocks updating every time I go to their windows and I do a fair amount of web surfing with this phone.

I also don't have live wall paper running, but I'm going to turn it back on. What's the point of having this phone if you don't have all the bling going.

i leave everything on except mobile network. battery lasts 12-14 hours easily before I put it to charge and it still has 20% usually by the time its charging. this is heavy use and averages around 6+ hours of use.

it is the 3g that is killing most people.
What exactly is not working with mobile network turned off. Do you still receive calls, e-mail, text's, etc? What's the difference in airplane mode and mobile network? TC

Airplane mode cuts you off from the world and turns the device into a media player.

Please clarify further: Does toggling "Mobile Network" off still allow you to receive voice and SMS, but not use the data network for email and internet? If so, is there a way to turn off the phone radio yet still keep on WiFi and GPS -- no phone & SMS, but still able to access the internet via WiFi?

Thanks. OK, what does turning the mobile network off stop working? Been with android for 6 months and still learning. I appreciate all the help I can get. TC

turning off mobile network allows for phone calls and texts. all other data is shut off. go to an empty spot on the screen and add a widget and scroll down to settings and touch mobile network. i unplugged at midnight last night and am at 90% with the network off and wifi on.

for example, i dont need data while im driving or otherwise occupied. if this post helps you please thank me for it.

I can't find the widget/shortcut to add mobile network to my screen. Am I missing it? Or did you just add the settings one?

Wow, I had no idea about this! Now I'm not going to turn off my service. Ill just shut down the data connection when I don't need it. Which is most of the time when away from my car or office. Sweet this should boost battery life a lot.

This should have been a default widget on the phone. This is one of the reasons I think reviewers claim of bad battery life on this phone is a bit silly. I'm getting awesome battery life.

The reason is that Android has amazing idle power usage. Mine is usually under 1% an hour (with 3G on). If you get in a situation where battery life could be a problem you can "hypermile" your battery life by just turning off mobile network (3G).

This should reduce battery drain even further, we are talking like half a percent per hour, and you can still get phone calls.

backup your SD card and do a full format fat32. I guarantee you will notice a difference in battery life. I went from only 8-10hrs to an astoning 22-24hrs. Today my phone had been unplugged for 13hrs, and I still had 43% left. Using it moderately.

And don't forget to stand on one leg, spin 3 times around counterclockwise and spit into the wind. That will help just as much. Where are all these things coming from. Also buy some of those penis enlarger pills, they also work just as well. I guarantee it! <NOT>
