Google Voice Playback Very Low Volume

These seems really strange, but for some reason the playback through Google Voice's visual voicemail is very quiet. It doesn't seem like upping my phone's volume has any effect either.

Anyone else experiencing this? If I play it back on my computer it's fine; seems to be an issue with the app on the droid.

Yes! This has been driving me crazy! I don't want to play my voice mail out loud, there is no reason that office personnel should have to hear voicemail from my wife. Perhaps it's another calendar thing?#$%^ hehe

Love the Droid otherwise. First time poster! Hope to have finally found a phone, and a phone forum, that I can stick with for a good while. It gets old switching phones all the time.

I've found that you can control the playback volume by changing your "in-call" volume to something louder (I think almost to max). Make a quick phone call to someone, max out the volume, hang up and go back to GV vmail.

Unfortunately, the volume rocker only controls the "media playback" volume while using the GV (official) app.

I just tested it. That's exactly the problem. Nice find. Thanks for the info.

I'm going to see if I can find a way to report this to Google, in the slight chance they don't know. Hopefully they can implement a fix for that.

More specifically, with the new update, if you have it set for using the handset speaker, the rocker panel adjusts the in-call volume like it does with a normal call.

Just tested it and I was able to get it as loud as a normal telephone call.

EDIT: Added the following The same applies if you use the speaker as well. Rocker switch adjusts in-call volume.

This is good news on a plethora of levels.

1 It means that Google is listening to us,

2 They are working on fixes for this phone and A2

3 We should start verifying more bugs and reporting them to get them fixed that much more quickly.
