UPDATE: I succesfully flash the recovery image, Im in the android system recovery now I tried to flash the cyanogen mod and now im starting to have problems again. When I tried to put the cyanogen mod.zip and the googleaddon.zip(which i suspect the problem lies)on the sdcard.I tried to find the root folder and cant find one (the home folder or / folder)of the sdcard so i made a folder and i named it root and put the cyanogen mod.zip and the googleaddon.zip using a program called NexusFile. After that,i went to backup/restore then it did its backup until its completed then wipe then wipe data/factory reset and when i reached to flash zip to the sdcard it says E:No Zip file found even i've already put the cyanogen mod.zip and googleaddon.zip on the root folder or the folder i named root.So please help me OT:BTW, how do you restore my contacts on my phone?I lost all my contacts on my phone even though I made a backup.Again, Advice to a guy who just got his nexus one 2 days ago cause so far all of them are just referrals to threads existing in this forums like should I root it or update to a new firmware etc. Hope someone can help me.

The 'root' directory on your sd card is simply placing it on the sdcard without being in any folders. For example, mount your sdcard to the computer and in the window that pops up on the computer click on "explore files and folders" or something along those lines. When the window pops up showing your sdcard (and whatever folders it has saved on it at that point) take your zip files for the ROM and google addons and drag them to a blank space in the window for your sdcard. Do not put them in any folder! After that, close the window, dismount the sdcard and flash away.

As far as contacts go, they are uploaded to your google account and will restore themselves when you sign on to google after flashing the new ROM.

UPDATE 3: I decided to go back to a unroot and stock nexus one and it fixes my problem of applications missing in my phone but now the gallery app won't add videos .It can only add images but not videos like videos coming from your computer and videos you shoot using the built in camera. To be specific when I shoot a video and hit the record or capture video button ,it automatically reboot so i suspect that the gallery just won't add videos weather from videos coming from a computer or videos captured using the built in camera. What did I do wrong? How come n1 is so sensitive on rooting and unrooting ?Can anyone enlight and help me?

Holy shit, you have been having problems haven't you LOL......bet you wished you had never started rooting and flashing!

My help is this:
1. First point - double check you have followed all the rooting instructions carefully. Checkout the Unlockr website which is what I used to root my Nexus 6 months back (). It gives video instructions as well as text, so you shouldn't go wrong.....don't forget if flashing a radio thru fastboot, to add the .img extension after the name of the file! (this is what I did wrong initially).

2. My advice, download a complete ROM with Radio built-in if you are still having problems (which I suspect you are, as you have unfortunately probably got a phone that is slightly screwed up). I recommend Modaco's Froyo custom ROM at the moment - r17 is out and r18 will be published today which includes the FRF72 update from Google. Link is here (15/Jun r17 - MoDaCo Custom ROM for Nexus One with Online Kitchen - FRF50 Froyo - Android @ MoDaCo). You will need the FRF50 radio, so if you download with the ROM, make sure it has downloaded fully before flashing, or if you are able to flash the radio via Fastboot, download the radio from Cyanogen's site (CyanogenMod-5 for Nexus One: Kang Central Station V5.0.8 (06/19/2010) - CyanogenMod Forum) and flash Modaco's ROM without the Radio.

Hope this helps - any problems, Message me via the forum and I will pick up and help you later when I have finished work UK time this evening.

The assumption is that those [dev] sites assume you already have knowledge over what to do, which isn't any help to people who are new to this. When flashing the radio, just be careful that you have a full battery and don't disturb the flashing in any way, as this is the only thing that can brick your phone.

No I am using EPE54B.

Okay bro, you have exactly what I had. Rogers/AT&T correct?

Here's what I did... Im not sure if there's a way straight to FRF83 but I'm gonna show you what I did to get me to Froyo. (Assuming you're familiar with flashing and updating custom ROMs.

1) Unlock Bootloader
2) Go Here: 24/May - FRF50 (Froyo) pre-rooted update zip + no radio option + online kitchen - Android @ MoDaCo

Download the 1st one with the Radio Update titled:
FRF50 with radio (recommended) - DOWNLOAD (MediaFire Pro) / MIRROR (ROMraid / CoBlitz) MD5: 946229291ed8e24cd80aeb4a66ca2fc7

Flash that to get you to FRF50.

After you've done Flashing that one... Go here and download this zip file.
Repeat Flashing Process with this zip instead.

If any questions... I'm not always on the Forum so Gtalk me DTorrefranca
