Help Power button sinking?

What hardware version do you have? I heard people say that hardware version 0002 is notorious for this happening while reports of people with hardware version 0003 are not having this issue. I would be interested in seeing what version you have to see if I have to look out for this. I have hardware version 0003.

I have the issue with the power button as well. I actually took the phone apart to look at it, and noticed that the left side on the button (that is not visible) is cracked. What I'm wondering is does anybody know where I can get a new button?? Both the volume and power button are similar and are made with very thin plastic. If i push the left side of the button it doesn't do anything. I can only use the right side of the power button. If anybody has any information on this issue please POST!!

Are you still within the 30 day window? Return it to sprint if so. The only thing I can suggest is buy someones broken evo for cheap and use it for spare parts. I'm not sure if parts like that can be bought alone. If you are having any other problems also, get a new one through insurance.

I will probably have to go to Sprint. The only issue is my phone is rooted and I have the free hotspot..so basically I don't want to give up my phone I would rather repair it.

go in and try and find a tech that isn't busy and chit chat for a bit..see what issues he has seen...explain to him you aren't stooooopid and just need to buy a button and see where it goes. He may offer to do it for you, offer you a button, or tell you that you are a silly goose. during which you have never even given him your account info so no worries

I wouldn't use WD-40. It will attract dirt and get gummy. Use graphite.
