Hi folks 1st time poster here. I really love the look of the Legend and am bursting to get one. However, after reading problems about battery life, wifi and network drop-outs i am wondering wether it's worth buying one of these just to download apps to make the thing work properly. Has anyone got a Legend that actually performs well?

The problem with forums is that you'll only see the issues and complaints that people are having. People tend not post if everything is fine.
I have no issues with mine.

Battery life is very good I find if you manage usuage properly. Only charging mine now after three days.
Network drop outs aren't an issue either, I can still get a signal in one our offices basements.

If you like a legend get one, if you find you have issues you can always exchange it for something else.

Thanks for the reply Martin. Totally agree with you on the point about forums. I recently had the HTC Desire,(which was excellent) but i found it too big to carry around in my pocket. I though the Legend would be ideal for me as it's smaller and lighter. There were signal issues with the Desire, however, nothing too serious though, just want to make sure that the Legend isn't any worse in that department. Maybe more people who have little or no issues will post in this thread and offset the negatives. No offence meant to the people who are having problems.

Thanks for the reassurance guys, it is nice to see some positive posts about this handset. It looks so good, i don't think i'll be able to hold out much longer. I suppose my main concern would be to do with the signal reception and wifi, i'm on VF with no data plan so i wouldn't really require a decent 3G signal but i would be somewhat reliant on the wifi capabilities.

Same here.

Wi-fi works perfectly , although it doesn't get quite as strong a signal as my Toshiba laptop but it's good enough and connects instantly and stays connected.

Battery Life - about 36 hours. That's with moderate use and connected to wi-fi whenever I'm at home (about 12 hours a day). I'm actually quite impressed with the battery compared to other smart phones.

Network dropouts - I've only had a couple in 10 weeks. I'm on Vodafone.

I'm really happy with mines. The Legend totally suits my needs and looks great.

Plus , hardly anybody has one. I've yet to meet anyone else that has one or even see anyone else use one. Most people go for the Desire which I think is a bit too big and nowhere near as solid as the Legend.

Mine one so far ok, battery can last me about 36 Hours, so usual web surfing, simple gaming, wifi so far ok for me as it hasn't drop out before, love it so far.

The only problem I have so far is the power button and home button, I din click that very often but it seems to become lower level as time pass by, as well as the home button, not feeling feel when you touch it after sometime, small issue for me.

I did some research over this issue and found out quite a number of users having this issue, be ready to get use for it if you gonna have one, cheers !

Ok so i went with the Legend, charged it up switched it on, looked at it expecting to see zero bars or one bar of signal. Four bars of signal, terrific! I thought, until i picked the handset up. Suddenly the signal dropped out completely! I put it back down and it came back at four bars again! So in essence, everytime i touched the phone the signal dropped out. Until i switched my Vodafone sim out and put in my PAYG O2 sim! Then it was solid 3 or 4 bars whether i touched the phone or not! So i guess my question is... WTF???

The antenna seems to go out into the black bumper area at the bottom of the phone (you can see two contacts on the door when you remove it). Depending on how you hold it, you'll block some of the signal. If the signal in your area already isn't great with Vodafone, then you might run into issues. Hey, we get our own you're-holding-it-wrong issue!
