Handcent SMS question

Yeah I had trouble with that too. But actually I have another question. I uninstalled Handcent, because of this:

When I got a text message. The normal "Message" application on the phone would display it as "unread" and Handcent would also say it was unread. I would have to read it in both applications in order for it to go away from notification (very annoying). Is there a way to just have handcent override the messaging application compeltely, so that when I resond in Handsent, the normal message application doesnt need me to go in and read it :(

I love this app better than the normal messaging one because it has so many more options. However, is there any way you can get the pictures of your contacts on the message threads like the regular messaging app does>

I found that the pictures that imported from facebook were not really associated with my contacts. Those pictures would show when the fb contact called but not in the messenger. I had to go to facebook and save each of their pictures onto the sd card of my phone. Then I associated each picture with the contact and then the pictures worked. I don't know if there is an easier way. (I have a tendency to do what I find that works even if it's not easy.)

I have another handsent question: When I send a text message, it is sending TWO of them...I assume one from handsent and one from my native app. How to stop that?

Also, when I receive a text, even though I disabled notification in the native app, I get two or three "tones" from the original notification ringtone, and then the handsent ringtone kicks in. Any thoughts? Otherwise, its a cool app, but I removed it until I can get these 2 issues sorted out.
