Help security question on swipe down

I have an incredible and its well you know "incredible!" When you get into the phone you have to swip down to keep you from making a "pocket call". I have secure emails on my phone so I also use the multi dot finger swipe. Not sure what to call it but you get 9 dots you can create a customer "swiping pattern" to enter you phone which is great.

The problem is I don't need both. The 9 dot swipe serves the same purpose as the first screen swipe to protect against "pocket calls".

Is there are way or an app that can disengage the first swipe screen only leaving the second 9 dot version.

Real hassle doing both but need the extra security of the second screen

Welcome to the forums. I have not used the security pattern on my Incredible yet but I had tried it before on my MotoDroid and I swear it replaced the traditional swipe screen.... could be wrong though, I am 9 times out of 10.

Looks like you right though, gotta do both on the Incredible. Bummer. Lets see if we cant figure this out :)

EDIT: I am finding a lot of info on this but no solutions. Weird. You can just hit the menu button to bypass the first swipe screen but that still not an ideal solution.

U can take off the need to use the "unlock pattern." The way u do this is Settings > Security > uncheck the "require pattern" box. This will take the pattern away but don't know how to disengage the swipe down feature. So now, you'll only have 1 and not both on.

Hope this helps.

He wants to do the opposite of what you said. He wants to only use the unlock pattern and not the swipe down unlock.

Thank you. And thanks to Izzy as well for trying to help. :)

did you try using no-lock and have the unlock pattern set? i know that no lock disables the swipe screen but not sure about the pattern...worth a try

I just tried this and it bypasses both lock screens so that won't work. However I had never tried the no lock app before and Its pretty freaking sweet. Thanks for the suggestion.

It's also pretty glitchy. Meaning, I want the trackpad to power on the phone bypassing the power button, which it does along with the volume rocker, but it has since stopped. Have to multiple press it before it "sometimes" works. :(
