Only on 0003 revision hardware with a specific supplier's screen.
They are working to see if they can do same on 0002.
Not all 0003 have the Epson screen so even then no guarantee!!
This is quite promising. The guys over at XDA is able to fix this while HTC is twiddling their thumbs saying "Oh the human eye can't see over 30fps". HTC needs to stop being lazy or pay them for fixing their problems.
As of now it seems to break vsync and the camera. Once Toast has the EVO's kernal he'll probably get all of it in working order.
The 30fps cap can be lifted from data apps but not the camera or more relatively the hdmi output and video recorder since it's a hardware limitation on the hdmi port. But good news is apps won't suffer from it, this means games will no longer be limited to 30fps for all you picky gamers who play 3D highly animated games... on a cellphone. :/
If this was a cap purposely put in by HTC, I would like to know why they did it. I'm all for having better response on my phone, but am just curious why it was this way in the first place.

This is a 65nm chipset, so likely it will never get fixed officially for the video/HDMI media function. As I have posted a few times before- it runs too hot beyond 30fps and high KBR
If you need the video out beyond 30fps and beyond a compressed mess (all snaps have this issue outputting to big displays), then get a Moto X, since it DOES output hidef and looks amazing. That is the difference a 45nm chipset can bring for video output.
Though the EVO and X are about equal, the X will make video media fans VERY jealous. Doubt at your own expense.
That all said, 30fps seems fine to me for video recording and playback. The real issue is KBR and actual resolution. The 3630 destroys our snaps in that regard. No comparison. It does hidef for real, unlike Sprint and HTC only talking BS about it.
