Help wifi lost connection

Hello all, I just purchased my moment this weekend, and have been mostly happy with it so far. Yesterday I decided to put it through its paces a little bit on my home wifi connection so I enabled wifi on the phone for the first time. My phone recognizes there's wifi, but every time it tries to connect, it eithr fails, or connects VERY briefly, then loses the connection. AFter it does this, it then seems to think i have no data connection at all and will not let me use the browser even on my cell service. My phone remains like this until i both turn of wifi and restart it. This is a wireless connection that my laptop can read anywhere in the house, and when I was playing with my phone I was sitting only two feet from it, so I have a hard time believe it is just a reception issue.

My phone is fresh out of the box, no apps other than layar and snesoid, and has 2.1 already installed. Is there a fix for this issue that others have discovered? or a hack that takes care of it? Does my phone have to be rooted to deal wtih this? Thanks very much for your time, and I have been remiss in thanking those that have helped me with prior threads, so thank you to all of those as well.

This is the data lockout that has been talked about in detail on this forum. Re-starting the phone is the only way to 100% to get your connection back. There is no actual fix, underclocking the CPU might help but will slow things. If you don't want to deal with the issue, return the phone before the 30 days is up and get something better. I wouldn't recommend the Moment to anyone at this point.

So does this mean that wifi is basically non-working on moments? Or simply that it will lockout occasinoally and work again later? I have not been able to find a reply specifically to this question is why I ask, even though it has been talked about a lot.
I have had my Moment since early January of this year and have never experienced this lockout issue. I'll admit that I don't use wifi all that often, because I can browse the web just as fast with the regular cell service.
