Want INSANE Battery Life? Fuggedaboudit! (new idea inside?)

It's simple.

1. Buy an external charger and several batteries. Inexpensive Ebay fakes are fine.
2. Charge the aforementioned batteries and have them with you (at least one) at all times.
3. Use the phone. Do not be concerned with battery life because it doesn't matter, you have plenty of spares.

That's it. Really.

I am very happy with the life I am getting out of my batteries but the exact # of hours/minutes/usage etc. is irrelevant to anyone other than me. Everyone's different. So, don't sweat the details. Just get some batteries and enjoy the phone!

It works though.

However, this does not increase Battery Life. Battery Life is based on one battery, not several.

What you are talking about it is increasing Phone Usage.

haha yep I know, right? Here's the thing, I've done pretty much everything there is to do, turned stuff off, etc., and I'm pretty sure I'm getting the best battery life I can, but at the end of the day, having spare charged batteries available trumps trying to eek out the very last percentile of performance from the phone, know what I mean???

I have my own method of keeping my phone alive. Have a charger with you at the places you are most commonly. Me? Home, Car, Work. (Car & Work are the same charger)

I have 3 batteries, chargers at home, work, car, and 1 spare wall charger in my car for when I go to a friend's house. Never have to worry about battery life again. If I get stuck in a blizzard, I'm all set for at least a week (Turning phone off, and on like once an hour to call for help)
Or for like 3 days if I play games, watch movies, and surf the web while I wait for rescue, lol...

I'm glad I'm not the only one doing this. I had 2 cheapies from Ebay since day one (2 batteries + wall charger for $12 on Ebay).

If the back cover was easier to get off without the fear of snapping it in half, this might be a viable solution. As it is, I don't remove the back cover unless I absolutely have too...

Not really comfortable with the build quality of the phone back to remove it any more than I absolutely have to...

Besides, at least for now, I keep it in a silicon case and removing it to swap battery's is a pain in the crevice!!

I've had the phone since launch day and remove the back cover every single day to swap batteries and sometimes twice in a day. Never had a single issue with the back cover. It still snaps on and off like it did the first day.

I found that removing the back is easier if you apply a little pressure towards the middle of the back as you are lifting the front up.

here is my tip. i actually have two batteries as well but it is a pain to take off cover and protective case. i was at toys r us with kids and noticed in check out line a clearance item that uses standard AA batteries to charge nintendo ds, dsi, psp, using a usb port. so this neat little pocket size charger that runs on 4 AA batteries, rechargeable ones supplied by me, can go with me anywhere. package says it will give life to a ds for 8 hours. got to be able to charge the droid battery a couple of times with 4 AA batteries. here is the beauty, it cost $3.49. what a novel idea to create something like that using AA standard batteries

I have a 1750 , 1500 and the 1300 I rarely plug my phone in anymore. I really just alternate between the 1750 and the 1300 and put the extra battery in my battery charger . I bought the 2 1500fakes with battery charger , got rid of the batteries but still have the charger. It's fantastic but I'm starting to notice the batteries are taking longer to charge in it, it might be dying

I've got the Verizon Silicon case, literally takes me under 30seconds to power my phone off swap batteries re case and power up again. Usually do it right before I go to sleep, usually wake up with around 95% battery as sleeping doesn't really use much power . But I use the phone pretty heavly during the day so by the time I'm getting ready to go to bed it's about to die

My battery runs fine for me. I charge it over night. Unplug it when I wake up. Get ready for work and hit the road. While driving (35 minutes to work) I plug in the phone to finish off the charging and thats it. I don't hit 90% till around noon. After a day of moderate usage with calls and surfing by 10pm I'm at about 30%.

I can attest to Task killers not helping battery life but hurt it. My battery lasted longer once I removed ATK.
