The Question of.."theres always going to be a new phone"

As a current storm owner, and a very satisfied one (with all my updated launchers, custom themes). I was excited about the S2, then the droid, only to hear about the possible upcoming HTC Passion. I have read on varied forums of why should we wait,"there's always going to be new phones". Here's something to think about. If we were looking in terms of PC or Consoles(of which I'm a gamer), we would always look to where the performance is, what accessories are available for us. Most PC software tends to be written for next Gen Processors. Now maybe this doesn't always transfer to phones, but phones are staring to move in that direction, in other words featured and hardware. And from the standpoint of a Verizon owner, we have never been in this situation of having so many devices to choose from, and so frequently. Here's How I believe most consumers look at Phones purchases, especially from Verizon. Verizon customers were used to products coming out every year at best, and very few to choose from so the choice of what to do was simple, When i bought my S1, i recently had a I730, and the samsung before that. Never owned A Blackberry. So when the storm came out ther was nothing else verizon had. Very easy choice..GET THE STORM, quality build, outstanding secure OS, really hard to brick unlike winmo, Yes it had its problems, but mine was smooth overall..and the other note, there was nothing on the horizon, We didn't even here about the Storm 2 until after a year or so. During that time, we saw the G1, the Pre, yes another IPHONE, and some other devices, a lot were promising but to me just another improvement on current features and hardware. maybe I'm wrong but as a consumer i wasn't convinced. Then comes the droid, new features, new hardware,GPS voice nav with layers, resolution, etc. totally different from the G1. Raised my eyebrows and got me excited. I wasn't that excited about the pull out keyboard, but i wasn't excited about the lack of pull out keyboard on the storm..i got used to and liked it...So, I was all set to possibly pull the trigger, the droid seem to have pulled it off. But wait, Verizon is about to possibly debut 3 more heavy weight, s***, I only thought this happened to Tmobile, sprint and boost mobile client(maybe they bring in middle weights...lol) but they always had the newest, coolest stuff. Now I am in a place I have never been and I'm not about to get caught up in the hype because, yes, there will always be a newer phone but i need the screen size/resolution and power(1 gz snapdragon) to run all this new technology, handling video, voice nav, facebook integration with my contacts, because as a Verizon client, we won't be buying a phone for a while but we will get what we need and want. So if there is a rumor that "Verizon" (of all carriers..LOL) will be releasing phones unlike before, be assured I'll be checking all of them out. And when that purchase is done, I'll be happy, it won't matter if th IPHONE comes to Verizon or in a year there a newer android out there. I don't see the processors, screen resolution and size changing that dramatically. And if I'm wrong, it will be one **** of a year.

I will be waiting to see if the HTC Passion comes to Verizon
Android 2.0 or 2.10
Sense UI
4.3 screen
these are just a few things rumored
