Accessories 2150mAh HTC extended battery

Anyone have this battery? I'm thinking about purchasing it and I wanted to get some feedback from any users who might already have it.

Thanks

HTC Droid Incredible 2150mAh Extended Battery & Door

There are several threads regarding this battery in the accessories subforum (up top)...

But, short answer - It is HANDS DOWN the best money I've spent on this phone!

Don't let the pics in the other threads dissuade you - get it in hand and judge for yourself. In person it's much more palatable and makes the phone more comfortable to hold.

I'm currently at 13:52 uptime, with 4:58 awake time - 48% left...

That's with BT and WIFI both on since boot, max bright, 10 minute screen timeout and all syncs hitting like a drunk orangutan on a drum set. Also have 7% "time without signal" due to spending quite a while in a radiation screened hospital facility - that little stat wrecks normal battery life... BT is by far my biggest battery killer (18%), but I never have to turn anything on, simply click on my T1 earpiece and go to town...

(ETA: Also listened to almost 2 hours of mp3's via BT Headset, played AT LEAST an hour of Carom3D, and used NAV/Maps for maybe 20 minutes. I've only got about a half hour of voice calls, but that's typical for me.)

I can say with absolute certainty that my stock battery would have been dead many hours ago.

I'm going to name by battery "Vera"... It will be a spring wedding with many guests and an ice sculpture in the visage of a droid.

All I want is a case that fits it... then it would be perfect!!

My battery is at 4 bars now and it has been 15hrs 20min since unplugged.

Up time is 15:20
Awake time 4:01

Android system 24%
Cell Standby 23%
Voice Calls 21%
Phone idle 18%
Display 7%
Camera 5%
2010 World Cup 2% (checked scores on US game while it was on)

And this is only on the 3rd charge... cant wait to see if a firmware fix will extend it even longer.

I like how the battery's extra size looks on the incredible. Now I need to find a car dock and case to fit.

I just received mine today. I'm not happy that I don't have a case while using this battery, so i'll stick with the 1500 OEM with the normal back and gradient cover. I'll use the 2150 when I have to, I guess. I'm a prude. I'm not comfortable with nude phones. ;)

I received mine yesterday.(Still don't have the phone) Interestingly enough, it's like many people have been saying: it definitely doesn't look as bad as pictures make it look.

As for battery performance, I can't say from using it yet but expect 1.6x as much battery life as the stock battery.

It lasts me the whole day, have about 40% remaining by the end of the night. Which is good for me, I don't mind recharging every night. With the 1500 battery, I'd charge it back up again at about 3pm and have like 20% left at end of night.

Hate the bulge though. I loved the thin streamlined Incredible, but yea, it's not TOO bad. Tried the silicone case with the back cut out... it made the phone look really bulky. Hated it so I wasted $15.

Phone with extended battery is pretty hefty, I love the weight. Feels solid in my hand.

FYI: Charging issue still exists with 2150 mAh. Charged 4 hours to get green light with phone off. Turn off and on, light red again. Repeated 4 times to this point, it's been 6 hours and phone is still red every time I turn off.

Marking time at 100% 3:00 p.m. EST.

Turning everything on and set to refresh no longer than 30 min. Connection always on.

Streamed over 3G Data or over Wifi ?

3G While I drove from Cincinnati to Cedarville University.

I am at 9 hours from when I unplugged.

My battery is 13%.

9 hours of up time

8 hours 12 min of awake time.

I rode this battery as hard as I could. I turned off all power managing apps. I kept my entire PowerBar on the entire night (Brightness as full, Bluetooth on, Wifi on, 3G on, GPS on, Refresh on). I streamed Pandora via Bluetooth (Motorolla) over 3G for over 2 hours and 20 min (To and from Cedarville). I surfed the net and listened to Pandora for another 45 min while at Cedarville (still over 3G). I talked on the phone for about 20 min (several different calls) and sent/recieved 23 text messages. I actually downloaded and installed the multi-touch keyboard from another thread (it didn't work on my phone btw). I did all that I could to drain the battery as fast as I could. My facebook was set to update every hour, my Twitter was updating every 15 min. I manually refreshed my Gmail often.

All in all, for a first charge, not too bad. I'm sure that with minimal battery conservation and normal usage, I could have gotten more than 24 hours easily. I normally wouldn't leave GPS on all the time, nor would I have Facebook and Twitter updating that frequently. I'd also usually have Power Manager on as well. I'll update again after a few more charges.

One last thing. The pictures I've seen on here (of phones with the 2150) are ATROCIOUS. I almost refused my package this a.m. when FedEx brought it. Truly, it is not that bad. I can hardly tell a difference in my pocket. My wife has an Incredible as well, it was nice to hold hers in one hand and mine with the 2150 in the other. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE obviously, but not as much as you'd think. FWIW.

The pictures can be found here sorry its my first upload from my phone and for this site if it doesn't work let me know.Mobile Photobucket
Thanks for the picures. I have a question. It looks like you modified the case to fit the new battery and back, and it looks like the battery bump is big enough that when the phone is sitting on it's back it is also not sitting on the camera. That is one of the major reasons I have a case, and if this is true, I can deal without a case until I can find one that fits.

Yes in all instances the camera doesn't touch anything both the cover that comes with the 2150 battery or the red/black case cover the camera so no matter what you decide your good.

Installed and charging now. I discovered that the original charger that came with the phone will not supply enough current. The red light didn't even come on. So I plugged it into a powered USB hub, and it started charging. Stupid me, I bought from HTCPedia and paid $20 too much (apparently). Sigh...

Will report my experiences in a few days.

Wait what? That makes no sense that original charger won't work

Verizon would make sure of that wouldn't they?
