Hi all,

I got my first droid based phone yesterday (whoohoooo) HTC Desire.

I am having trouble setting up the exchange to point to an Outlook/Exchange anywhere address. I can access outlook anywhere by going to the address in the web browser, but for some reason, when using the https://mail..... url as address for exchange the phone says that it cant connect. Using the same settings on ym Nokia E75 I do get a connection.

Any thoughts? Is this at all possible. If not, how do you connect to an exchange server when not on your home/work lan?

The answer: Do not add the "https://" part, start straight with mail.dgfdfgdfg.com ;)

I love droid!!!!
...and don't forget to check the SSL box.

Oh, and if you're connecting to a corporate Exchange server (and previously did so with your Nokia), you might need to contact the server admins and make sure they allow your new device to connect. Some companies enforce a "one device per account" policy (like mine). If that's the case, and you still have your Nokia on your profile, you'll likely have an issue setting up the partnership until you reach out to them so they can enable the new device ID. For Exchange, you typically need to attempt the partnership once so the server logs your device ID; then they can enable it. Probably not worth calling them ahead of time, because from what I understand, you can't actually tell them the device ID (no way to find it) before you try to sync.
