i think i read somewhere that there are a couple different apps available on the market that can get you root access. i dont know exactly because i've not had to have an alternate way. i just remember something. as far as doing it on a mac, i'm sorry, i have no knowledge on that. last apple i owned was an apple IIe - LOL
i cant recall exactly, maybe one was z4root or gingerbreak. maybe another member will post a reply soon
