...WTH is wrong with some folks on this forum? It's a damn tech site so I know there will be some "snobs" but come on. If everyone were like the folks in this group it would be a fine place.

I used to run a Minnesota Sports Themed message board, and we had plenty of snobs there too. It doesnt matter what type of message board it is, there will always be a few.

many bring it on themselves. eris owners start threads in the eris forum about how the eris is better then the droid, of course droid owners are going to come in and defend their product. some poeple just like to see themselves talk.

i currently own 4 forum and manage about 10 others, it doesnt matter what topic it is, people are going to show their ass.

Aha! You have been followed! Just joined here. And ya'll are right. There are always going to be sour pusses to mess up the fun. IMHO the Eris is better than the Droid, my hubby has it and I get lots of chances to compair the two. I win!!

What are the reasons that eris is better? I only chose the droid because of the keyboard and specs - larger SDcard - had no clue - did wonder if more expensive was better !!1 LOL

I hardly ever use the keyboard - maybe if programs did the predictive (suggest words) when in KB mode I would use the KB more.

I got a feeling that by 6months there will be at least one other device that we will wish we had !!

@solitary - well it IS the eris forum....

and i wanna know the answer to katahdin's question as well...i got the eris when my curve 8330 decided to take a three months vacation from properly recieving/sending texts and started lagging its little boxy ass off. only reason i got the eris was because droid was $200, eris was $100, and i'm cheap. did i miss out on anything?

Moto has a dedicated GPU and a tiny bit better processor, HTC has slightly more RAM, Moto has 2.0, HTC has Sense, Moto has a physical keyboard, HTC is slimmer and has a trackball, Moto has a camera flash, HTC has Flash Lite, Moto is metal, HTC is easier to grip and doesn't fingerprint. There are a few other differences, but the Droid is slightly better. IMHO, the Eris is a better value though. To each his/her own. I have an Eris and love it.

@droideris - I too feel this way about the Droid. It is slightly better on the 2.0 front, and flash, but i love Sense. It brings everything i need and/or use to the home screen with ease. Everything is just a few swipes away, so much room. Its great. But yes, to each his/ her own, im just here trying to help out and chill with other kats who got a dope ass phone as well!..

I'm just sick of Moto. After my V3M and W755, I decided to try something new (Nokia was the ONLY other brand I've owned) and my brother-in-law and sister have HTCs. Seems how he's a network architect for Lockheed Martin, I figure he must know his stuff well enough.

I wanted the A855, but after playing with it more and more, I've decided that it's just too much hype and not enough comfort. And the keyboard is USELESS. Go figure though; as soon as I decide on the Eris, rumors start flying that it will go EOL four days before I plan on getting it. Oh well, I haven't heard anything solid and chances are I'll have on in my hands 04/05.

Main question for you current owners: anybody seen a windshield mount SPECIFICALLY for the Eris/Hero? I don't want some universal adjusting piece of junk, just a clip molded for this model, low-profile, and easy to remove the phone from. I might end up making one if I decide to get a cover for it.
