Cry HELP? Any Step by Step Guide for Rooting Europe Hero?

First. Hi everyone, I'm quite new on the forums so I was thinking about introducing myself a little.

I'm 19 years old male from Finland, I just graduated from Internet Technology and so on. Now I'm without a job and have millions of tons of free time to tease you guys on the forum. And I Love Rock.

SO, as you might have noticed, I have something in my pocket when it comes to electronics and especially to software, but I'm not perfect.

I need a little step by step guide to Root my HTC Hero which is Unbranded I think, because it works with every SIM card which I've tried.

It's a HTC Hero bought in Europe Finland.
IMEI: 357988021162677
IMEI SV: 01
Serial: HT97WL900906
Phone number: Unknown
IMSI: 244212002640059

Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband: 63.18.55.06PU_6.35.15.11
Kernel: 2.6.29-063c4d24 htc-kernel@and18-2 #1
Build Number: 3.32.405.1 CL191507 release-keys
Software Number: 3.32.405.1
Browser Version: WebKit 3.1

I already tried the fastroot thing but it just said "Phone can't be rooted." or something similar.

So, I need some damn help and someone could suggest me some beautiful and supergreat tuning modified custom ROM's.

Thanks already guys!

Do you want to root or use a custom firmware?

You could always give my root guide a try.

Like i tell people: This guide was meant for the Telus HTC Hero but will work on any GSM HTC Hero.

http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-hero/96848-telus-htc-hero-root-guide.html

Start from Step 70. This is at the end of the downgrade process. If FlashRec reports to you any errors. Your phone will have to be downgraded. Simply start over from step 1 and you will be guided through the root process.

Well the THING I'm hunting here is to underclock my CPU and stuff.. But, I was wondering about having Custom ROM sooner or later, first of course the rooting process.

Thank you a Super-a-fu... freaking-a-lot. First REAL guide. Step by Step and it work'd! Now running VillainROM 12. Just trying to find out how to make my mobile network work. My dealer is Saunalahti (Finland) do you think I could have my APN's and stuff from their support phone?

EDIT: The Mobile Network DID WORK. I was just in "dead zone".

Whoaahhh... New world...... Thanks!! And more thanks!

Good to know that this it worked for you. Can you please go make a post on the original forum post that is linked above so that others will know that it works on their phones as well, on your carrier, along with any steps you may have skipped or started on.
