Hi all,

Currently running Elelinux 2.2 v2 (latest revision from yesterday)

I don't have a data allowance on my current plan and it costs me the equivalent of €1.10 per megabyte. Anyhow on some of the earlier roms i used - Official 2.1 and Villain 12; during setup i could select:

"I do not have a data plan, only use Wifi"

So i never downloaded on 3G (or its equivalents) and only downloaded data while on Wifi. It would use the 3G to download/send MMS though!

The problem now is that i don't get that option with the Froyo roms. Additionally when i disable 'data traffic over mobile network' in the settings menu i can't receive MMS and i can't send MMS.

Does anyone know any way to keep mobile data on so i can send/receive MMS while not having it download internet related data when not connected to Wifi?

This is just a wild guess but....

If you go to your APN settings and edit the APN for your network, scroll all the way down to the bottom. What does it say under APN Type?

Elelinux came with a few APNs by default for me. There's a 'T-Mobile UK' APN, which has it's type listed as 'default,supl,mms'. And then there's 'Picture Message' APN, which is still a T-Mobile APN, but is listed as 'mms' only. I would get rid of all APNs except for the one you send picture messages with and then make sure the type is only set as mms.

You should install 3G watchdog to track your usage and see if this makes a difference.

Why didn't i think of that. The only APN there now is Netcom MMS. I deleted Netcom Internet so i would say that would have fixed it up. I've been using TrafficStats Lite, but ill get 3G watchdog and keep an eye on my data usage!

It worked: I could send an MMS, but i could not browse the web or view the Market, no internet connection available!
