I can't seem to unroot my phone, running froydvillain atm and I need to take it into the shop tomorrow to be fixed. I've restored to 1.5 using a nandroid backup I made right before I flashed a custom rom for the first time. I'm now trying to use RUU for orange phones, which mine is. But I'm getting error 170: usb connection error.
I've tried running in fastboot usb mode but that isn't working either. HTC sync works fine though

Specifically this part;
SOLVED it,
right lets go
device manager> adb interface then on your android right click then update driver> browse my comp for driver then at the bottom select let me pick from a list of drivers on my pc select HTC hero
next run the RUU it should crash out during boot loader and give a NEW error 171, DONT touch the phone leave it on the white screen and run the RUU again and WINNER updated
now for the ota updates. hope this helps anyone who gets this issue also.
