Default Fake HTC Hero

I recently bought a chinese make HTC Hero from ebay. It has Android style User interface, but isnt running android. I was wondering if any1 knows a way to install Android on this phone. The phone looks exactly like the android phone. The only differences is that this phone does not have a market. It only has File Manager which is a list of the files on your phone and memory card. It's settings are also different. I cannot find out the "OS" on this phone or anything about this device. It has a front facing camera that I do not think the original HTC Hero has, and it has 4g internet capabilities, along with wifi. Here is a link to my phone

G3 Google Android Unlocked GSM AT&T T-Mobile Cell Phone - eBay (item 320629951708 end time Dec-12-10 21:04:06 PST)

Thanks for any answers

The thing is that your phone probably has entirely different hardware. So it might be possible to port it to your hardware, but that's the kind of effort that takes large communities of devs weeks/months to do.

Just getting new versions of android to be compatible with older android phones takes a while, for instance.

Probably? I'd say definitely. 1.3MP camera, a memory controller that only supports 4GB cards, "dual SIMs" etc.

so you guys are saying that if I want it to run on Android, I better start trying to make my own fix, which won't happen, cause there's no fix out there?

PS: If you youtube tiger g3 hero phony you can see that they have this phone working with iOS, Win 6.5, and some version of android

If, as you say, someone has already managed to get Android running on this handset then presumably it could be repeated. Unfortunately I expect this is beyond the experience of most here at AF, as our handsets already run Android from the outset.
