Hey,

I'm new to this. I decided to root my phone yesterday and i put on Villainrom 12 as i still wanted HTC sense. I didn't know what i was doing but thankfully with the instructions on this forum it was pretty easy to do.

Anyways, I was wondering if any of you were having the same issue with skype. When i'm using the official skype app on my htc hero over WIFI, the calls are very choppy/static. I was wondering if there was a way to get around this to make my calls smooth?

Don't know about on a "rooted" phone, but I had the same problems using the official Skype app on my standard Hero (Official 2.1 ROM). The audio quality was excellent but I was getting a "stuttering" effect; loss of data (tried it on more then one WiFi as well as 3G). I ended having to remove it because it was basically unusable and it took up too much internal memory.

My guess is that the app has pushed the Hero's (relatively small) processor a little too far.
