Every time I do a wipe do I still need to reinstall the new radio along with the updated ROM all the time or once I've installed it the one time is that it?

I flashed 1.9.5 without Whipping. The only thing I lost was the EVO3 kernel. Radio version remains the same.

Once you flash a radio, it's not going to be lost unless you overwrite it with a new radio. It's not affected by factory resets.

Home button and slownes are caused from Launcher..... you can try to install a new launcher like Zeam or HeLauncher, they are more stable and fast than Launcher Pro. In the setting of the launcher there's the option for Home button, set it as you like

couple of questions.. where is the market application in this rom?

And also when I try to add accounts, I can only add an exchange account. Usually you get prompted to associate the phone with a google account but i don't see that either so I can't sync my contacts.

Any ideas? Cheers.

You need to boot to recovery and flash one of the google apps packages from the download page, which contains all the google apps.

That's why you have no gmail/market support at the moment.

It has apps2sd+ yes, but why would you want to use ext4? As I understand it, ext3 and 4 don't bring any benefits for use on a phone, only compatability issues.

Thanks for your advise. coz i'm using NAND Andriod for HD2 with App2sd+. Most of HD2 Andriod with App2sd+ are using ext3/ext4 partition. but for hero rom only recommand ext2 partition. what is different of them?? i know ext3/ext4 with indexing for large size harddisk of course not benefits for 512MB disk space...if i want partition 1gb space for App2sd+, ext3/ext4 really not benefits on App2sd+ function??

Whether you're using 512MB or 1GB for your ext partition, that's still a very small size compared to the hard drives ext3/4 were designed for. So no, as far as I'm aware there are no benefits to upgrading to either of those for use with apps2sd.

However, if you still want to use Ext3/4, then go for ext3. Whenever I hear about compatability issues, it seems to be Ext4 that is giving people problems.

You must flash honeybread zip file (like you flash normally a ROM, for exemple), apply it with theme chooser and have installed zeam launcher... nothing else.

It stands for Google Apps, so it's the market, gmail and so on. Google didn't like developers including them in their ROMs, so now we flash them as separate packages.

So yeah, you should flash the rom, boot the phone once and then flash gapps.

Yes I have, used the WiFi update and the gapps, all the latest ones, and yet it's still having issues....I swear it hates me.....>_>....XD And installed them like you said, flash boot then do a full reboot, then flashed gapps, booted up and then rebooted, and it was ok the first time I did this....but I kinda try over clocking to 768 Mhz and it would boot then it would freeze no matter what I did, so then I just reflashed it (After doing a total wipe, and Delvik *Excuse my spelling please*) and it was fine overclocked to 710, battery life is no different then before, and it's nice and fast no lags love this rom!!! XD But then wifi starting having problems it would connect and just show 1 bar of signal even though I'm beside the router, and it's kinda slow....loading pages not too bad it works, When I restart the wifi works again for awhile then starts slowing down, but after I reflashed after the crashes my contacts won't syncing it says Sync is have problems and will be back soon, and it's been like a week....so I don't think it's google, i don't THINK it is...But my 3g and data work fine i'm unlocked from 2.1 official rom from HTC and it still survived till now, just the gmail contacts, WiFi, and and WiFi hotsopt arn't working at all for me, WiFi some what works.... If you could help me out with this I'd be very thankful, oh and sorry for the long post didn't mean to make it this long, anyways thanks in advance again!!

Also....Youtube (Which I downloaded from the market, when I use it works fine over WiFi and Data, but most of the time when I try loading "HQ" on most videos it loads and I hear the music or whatever the video is...but the image it frozen at the point of the video when I tapped on HQ.....if you know what the problem is please let me know as well, cause I've been having this since the 2.1 on official HTC ROM....except on 2.1 it just said can't play video, not it loads and just has no video, on this ROM THanks again to you all!

Cheers!

Don't worry
So........ I really don't know..... You did all in the correct way. I did the same and I've got no problems. Wifi works good, contact sync works.... I did nothing particular to let theese things work good. I hope someone else could help you finding the cause of your problem.
There's nothing in particular to do... just flash rom, reboot, flash fix and gapps and than reboot. Nothing else.... argh!
In my opinion and experience, I think some Heroes could have problems with same roms, I don't know why.... tha same rom in different heroes, could work good, partial or with many bugs....

Copy the ZIP file (intact, do not extract the contents) to /sdcard
Boot into recovery
Select "Install ZIP from sdcard" and choose the file you copied
Reboot once installation is complete

See post #80. You probably forgot to install the core Google Apps.

Dilema......

Run this for a few days and its running 100% stable...... but I miss Sense.

So I tried Salsa Sense 4.0. That too runs 100% stable with no issues.

Both OC'd to 652 and not a problem.

The dilema is this. Cronos GB is very light and easy to use. The screen is super slick and fluid. The Salsa Sense is also slick.... but just feels a bit heavier.

Hard to explain....... flicking the screen on Salsa Sense is like making love to a beautiful women ....... and cronos is like making love to a beautiful women...... on a water bed .......covered in baby oil.

Both very pleasurable...... but the Cronos is definitely slicker.

I'm going for strong coffee now..... and to re-medicate.

Been messaged a few times asking me ( the noobiest of noobs) how to install the roms in a hero.

For anyone else wanting my dumbed down instructions.
Read this through a couple of times and take your time. I am not responsible for any problems..... Do this at your own risk. If you are unsure.... leave it on 2.1.

1. Download a ROM from forum. (Make sure its the right one for your phone. GSM roms will brick other phones..... and non GSM roms will brick your phone. If in doubt, ask in the forum to confirm its the right one.)

2. Plug in your phone to the PC so the SD card contents are on your computer screen,

3, Copy the ROM and any other relevant files (Wifi fix, Gapps, Kernel) from your computer to your SD card (make sure NOT to put it in any folders on the SD card, just on the SD card by itself).

4. Unplug your phone and turn it off.

5. Turn the phone on by holding down Home and Power till you get to the custom recovery screen.

6, Scroll down to Backup/restore and do a backup of your current rom. (you can use this to revert back to your current setup if all fails.)

7. Select Wipe data from the menu, then scroll down to advanced, select and wipe delvik cache. Hit the back button on your hero to see the previous menu.

8, Select install zip from SD card. Select choose zip.... then scroll down to the bottom where youll find the zip files you added.
(You need to add the zip files in the correct order. Rom first, then wifi fix, kernel then gapps.)

9, Important.... after each zip file is installed, Hit the back button on your hero to see the previous menu. Select Reboot to install the new files. Be patient.

10, When the phones running, turn it off. Enter recovery again by holding down Home and Power.

11, Select install zip from SD card. Select choose zip.... install the wifi fix...... reboot...... and repeat the process for the kernel file and the Gapps.

12. Once it is done, select Reboot and you are all set!

Thats it. Very important that you do the initial wipe AND wipe the delvik cache or you will corrupt the new rom with old data.

I use Launcher Pro Plus from the market so I can personalise the homescreen the way I want it but there are loads about.
Also, I have mines overclocked to 652/264 which has been very stable, good battery and very fast. (Menu/settings/ CPU settings.)
