Default phone case stops orientation?

Hi guys, wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
I bought a case for my Hero, it's the flip open leather type with a plastic insert that you clip the phone into.
Nice case but when I turn the phone it will not automatically orientate. I have tried it in all apps like messaging and photo's.
As soon as I take the phone out of the case it works again? very odd

Has anyone else encountered this?

Has the case got a magnetic catch for the flip?

I had the exact same problem.

So, does the magnet interfere with the orientation somehow?

Yeah, several people here have had problems with magnets in their cases. The compass is also affected.

Although I didn't use my case for very long, as far as I can remember mine worked just fine. So I guess it depends on the location/strength of the magnet.

Thanks for the information Xyro. Very useful to know.

I think I'll be avoiding magnetic cases in the future...

Sorted!
I removed the megnets from my case by carefully cutting the stitching to remove them, then a little bit of glue to seal it back up. It now works perfect.
Good as I have not found another case that protects the phone as well as this one.

Well pleased shows it was deffinately the magnets too.
