Well finally had some free time this afternoon so updated my Touchpad from 7 to 9. All went OK thanks to the guides on here and first impressions are very nice, look so much better. The only issue i have so far is when I go into Market there are 11 apps which need an update, I click update and get a bar saying updating with two tiny lines whizzing through it, but thats it, it never actually seems to download. My wifi is up and running and tested in Dolphin and can browse websites OK. I also installed the latest GAPPS when doing the install, any thoughts anyone? Cheers!
Alpha 2 installed and GAPPS gapps-ics-20120304-signed.zip.
I have tried wiping the data but this does not help. I have also noticed I cannot download new apps, basically get the same thing, a bar saying downloading but with nothing happening?
Thanks for getting back to me. I downloaded the latest google play from your link and installed OK, cleared the cache and user data etc, but still getting the same issue. Everything works fine except when updating, it just has a bar with little moving lines going through it and moving, but no matter how long I leave nothing installs, any more ideas guys?
All apps, even new ones from the market. Also cleared the data and cache a few times, reinstalled gapps, also tried the link from above, nothing seems to help. The rest of the system is great and have also downloaded data for apps outside of the market and that was fine, strange huh?

Both? 160 is best for market, but I'm not sure it's going to cause your issue. Both on the other hand, not sure what that does. I would assume change it to one, then the other.
If you want to change the dpi, there's an app for that.
Ah, I presume from that I was not meant to put both zip files in the install folder, only other problem is I won't be able to download that app from the market, have you a link to an apk? Sorry!
Hi Cochiro. I think both of the links are linking to gapps? Also how do I format system etc, I know how wipe dalvik cache, thanks for your help and patience :-)
If you don't know how to format system, how did you format data? They're in the same menu.
(To use recovery, up/down volume buttons are used to navigate up and down, press the power button to go back, and press the "home" button to do the highlighted task. Only briefly press the buttons since it's easy to skip a step by holding down a button too long.)
Press up or down volume button until "mounts and storage" is highlighted, press "home" button.
use up/down to highlight "format /system", press "home"
highlight "yes - format", press "n" (always watch for errors)
when that finishes, highlight "format /cache", press "home"
highlight "yes -format", press "home"
highlight "format /data", press "home".
highlight "yes -format", press "home"
press power to go back
highlight advanced menu, press "home"
highlight "clear Dalvik cache", press "home"
This was a copy and paste and edited from memory, so it may not be perfect.

Ok, done that exactly to the letter, now rebooting and it seems to be stuck in a loop, I get the initial cyanogen mod green logo saying loading then it bounces back to the moboot seen and starts again...
Yup, luckily I found and downloaded another build before the one from twitter, just ran that and we are looking good, it's now downloading 148 apps from the market and they are actually coming down, so fingers crossed, all sorted, thanks for your time and help colchiro, much appreciated. Just one last question, do I need to set the touchpad to 160 lines resolution now?

Your TP comes stock at 160 dpi. If you're satisfied with that, just leave it.
If you want something different (I run 132, which Dalingrin has stated is optimal), you need to run an app to change it and also mod your Google Play to work with it (or you'll have apps that say "incompatible"). I use that paid app I mentioned before to do that.
So were you formatting data like this before?

Yup, that is exactly the problem I had, sticking on the ICS splash. Lucky I had the other build already downloaded. So how's your knowledge with titanium pro. The market tried to download 148 apps, but hung after 40 or so. I rebooted and went into market but it did not start to download the rest. I think it only does it the first time. Anyhow, I restored the rest of the apps using my titanium backup, that was all fine and I now have all my apps back on my touchpad. The only problem is the market seems to think the apps still need downloading, makes sense as they did not come through the market now. Is there any way to get the market to know the apps are downloaded and relink them back so I get updates in future? Hope all that makes sense :-)
