Default WorkSlate WK-100

Hi, all. I realize this has nothing to do with the TP, however in a really, really small way - it does! I picked up a WorkSlate WK-100 today at a local Goodwill for $1.75! If you're a geek like me, you'd appreciate just how far we've come in 29 years!

This beast is nearly 30 years old, included 16K RAM and a very crude OS which was actually based on a spreadsheet! It's bigger, thicker and heavier than a TP and does about .000012% of the TP!

Oh, and it retailed for $895!

Is that a mini cassette deck - like the kind they use in answering machines?

I've got a Fujitsu Stylistic 3500 that I got back in 2005.

256 MB Ram, 15GB HD, Win2K, 800x600 resolution. Heavy as a brick (or 2). I paid like $130 on ebay cause it was "as-is". Turned out it was still under warranty! I used it for a couple of years. It was quite cool in my mind. I still have it and it still runs fine....but I never use it.

Yep, it's a micro cassette. I have a ton of old equipment - almost all of it is beyond obsolete. Somewhere, hiding in a closet is a Xerox 820-II, with dual 8" floppies. Sad, I know, but I love the old stuff. Brings back great memories. I like your old Fujitsu! Do you remember the Daulphin? I had one of those way back when.

I guess that's why I really appreciate today's technology. When the original Mac came out in '84, who'd ever have guess we'd be able to hold something in our hands hundreds of times more powerful? Blows my mind sometimes.
