Must admit, its a very nice phone. First thing I have done is update...Little bit of a shame I could not transfer anything but my contacts from my Hero but i'll live.
I will upload some pictures to my personal flickr account in a bit...One I get everything configured and get over the shock of how much bigger the screen is over my Hero lol.

Mine is here Tuesday! Had ordered Friday, was supposed to be here Monday, but I had a funny feeling, and sure enough, what was being sent was the desire graphite.
If I am going to be tethered to this one for awhile, I want to be in love with it!
hah what happened to the "I'll get it in Hong kong!" ? How much did you get it from HTC? Was this that little condition you were talking about? about reviewing it on your website and stuff?

I've only just got back into the house, I popped out for a while and will be going out again.
Review will probably be tomorrow in all fairness, I need to get stuff sorted out (my settings xD)
I won't reveal price simply because I've been told not to as part of the agreement but its lower than retail sim free price .
I was going to get it in Hong Kong in all fairness, simple reason being no rush, but since HTC have been epic with me, I'm happy with the terms to getting it at X rate
Hehe no worries totally understandable. Have fun with it! Having your own site does have its uses
It has great uses..when you have time for it lol.

Was it worth the wait?
I contacted a couple people via other forums who pointed me in the right direction, then I setup a partnership with them with particular terms and tadaa All happened really fast but happy overall with the outcome.
Worth the wait..Yes..a worthwhile upgrade from the Hero

See the above.
And before anyone asks, I will not disclose the username of the rep I contacted, but Google is your friend and you can find them in network forums

Looking forward to seeing your reviews here. Keep us posted dude. Congs again.
Thanks. I would like to note that boot up is increased if you take the battery out. It appears that everything is hibernated to the SD card.
Excellent! Thank you for the pics and vid, Spencer. I am going crazy with all of these posts here.
I took some photos today with it and done a recording from the phone. This will be going up to YouTube and Flckr along directly into Netscapist hopefully tonight

transferred everything mine from a milestone with Mybackuppro (with root enabled) to the Desire HD with Mybackuppro (once again root enabled)
Nice review. Coming from a Nokia E71 it's a revelation to me and lots to learn - not so much 'how to do things' but 'what it'll do' ...
Oh, the battery cover. I have nails and it's dead easy. Just with anything that's lightweight plastic you need to watch how you force it.
Just waiting for my cover to turn up. Oh, and my Nokia 2mm/3mm to microUSB converter cable so I can use my Nokia car charger. (I have my car chargers etc wired in properly behind the dash rather than have wires trail over the outside so it's easier to get the converter. Plus I have a genuine Nokia car charger as the cheapo ones don't charge things like the E71).
very impressive review, thanks for that, can you pls let me know how much is the free memory for application, it says it has 1.5 GB internal memory but I wanna know exactly how much is the free memory left for application installation
Settings -> SD Card and phone storage -> scroll down and see Internal phone storage...how much you see there pls
the original desire has only 140 MB for app installation which was pathetic

so around 1.1GB once android has stored its own settings, don't forget with froyo many apps can be stored to sdcard now though the settings/caches it creates will still go in internal flash.

thanks, so you mean in "Settings -> SD Card and phone storage -> scroll down and see Internal phone storage" === here it shows as 901.39 MB free ?

Thanks for the pictures and vids. Honestly the quality in these are an upgrade from my previous Nokia and BB phones. I will be very content, but I am still thinking of capturing my vacation stuff with my Sony Cybershot 8MP. Will have to do some comparisions.
Nice review. Quick to the point and pretty much explored most of the areas regarding the phone. Also i happened to spot a typo in the design area.
Kind of know what i'm talking about. And thanks for including a video and some pictures. It's what a lot of reviews forget to do lol
Thanks, I'm gonna put another video in as I have just found out that the video I recorded at TheCarPeople was only 480p which is default setting.

Same here, I still prefer my Fuji S1500 over the DHD camera. I stick to my principles..If I want to take a picture, I'll bring a camera xD.
The HTC Desire HD is the big-screened successor to the HTC Desire, a device that took much of Europe by storm when launched in the spring of 2010. The Desire HD followed during fall of the same year, earning its title from a large 4.3-inch display,... Read More
