however battery use screen shows display 73%..! Is that normal, how can I reduce it?

It will be the power consumption % since the phone first turned on, hours ago. Not the live level. I think anyway. Mines around 32% but i was on around 70% before. I don't know what's changed. My power save cuts in at 20% battery.

My battery usage has always been 70-80% screen, 83% now, up time at the moment is 6 hours (restart after installing some apps)

If you think about it, the percentage consumption is not a reading of the total battery consumed, for example:

Battery reading 90% charged (10% consumed): Screen 70%, Phone Idle 5%, Android OS 20%, Games 5%

Therefore of that 10% usage, 100% of the battery use is accounted for. It stands to reason that if you disable BT, WIFI, Accel, GPS, Sync, Notifications, that the things left to actually use your battery are limited, so the 4.3" monster display is going to register a high % usage of the battery already consumed.

Am I naive to believe that it's good to have a high level of power consumption being attributed to the screen? To me, that means that the phone is consuming very little power except for the times when I am looking at the screen (obviously it's blank at all other times).

Credit to The Hoff's explanation. Its exactly how things should be.

In my opinion, I would prefer the screen to be using the most power because then I know no other background apps/features are draining the battery (unless the screen is randomly turning itself on when I'm not looking, but we wont consider this).
