It's not that important which container was used (.avi, .mp4, .wmv, .mpg,...). What's more important, is which codec they used (x264, xvix, divx, wmv, mpeg,...).
Anyway, try different players from the market, one of them should be able to play it. Try VPlayer and RockPlayer
