when i go into settings, about phone, software info, its says android version 2.2, but when i go into system software updates it says my phone is upto date, so why wont it get 2.21
E.g. when your phone boot up and shows the O2 logo so it's has the O2 brand
Branded phones have some extra apps from their provider.
So the firmware is different from HTC's and the phone needs the OTA update from it's provider.
EDIT: I just had a look in the software info of my DHD: Android 2.21

mine is the same, just upgraded from carphone warehouse and phone is unbranded but when i check updates it say there are none yet my software is still only 2.2!
SpencerUK, they are on 2.2 and they claimed to be unlocked, so they should be on the older software which is quoted above, the old 1.32.
I am just checking with them what version they are on so they can see if they can or cannot get the update. I know there are some 1.4... out there and some TMOB version as well.
Hasn't the 2.2.1 update been pulled by HTC? That would explain why no-one is now seeing it. Mine has been updated to 2.2.1 and, touch wood, no problems so far!

Also what I heard, update was pulled due to the amount of problems people were having like sms notifications ballsing up and sd cards becoming corrupt.
I didn't know about it being pulled. Thank god I don't have SD card corrupting. I am not sure of SMS as I am using Handcent for now... But I do get a lot of reboots and SIM card being disconnected.. LOL
