Welcome to the forums

Have you got the latest version of HTC Sync Installed? Do you have USB Debugging enabled on your phone?

Thanks for the welcome Yeah I've reinstalled it many times and I have tried having the debugging enabled and disabled and still nothing. Stuggling to understand why it wont connect with HTC sync. I can connect it through my disc drive and look at my files on my memory card but cant get it to sync through HTC sync.

HTC Sync has been known to be temperamental and in most circumstances, I recommend installing an app called MyPhoneExplorer to resolve.

Just to confirm, when you go into Settings -> Connect to PC, that's set as "Ask Me"?

I can confirm that the Ask me was selected. The myphoneexployer seems to be working so thanks for your help really appreciate it. Just wondering if you could inform me how to get music from my itunes to my phone?

You can try an app called DoubleTwist, that normally does the job.

I use MPE to sync music as well. I just have a large folder under windows that has all my albums and use MPE to ensure that all of it is on my phone. That is, I'll rip a couple more CDs to my PC then use MPE to figure out what needs copyin gto the phone (I only go one way as there will be almost no occasion when I'd want to go from the phone to the PC).
