is there a way to Archive my texts on my HTC Desire HD?

I believe you can use SMS Backup & Restore to achieve what you want (don't think it's for root only devices, but am not 100% sure)

D-U-R-X pretty sure thats the one I used on my stock DHD

HTC One X Plus former Desire HD owner. Wifey had the Wildfire and now has Samsung S2, son has Sony Experia his girlfriend was talked into a Samsung S3 and the Father inlaw talked into an S2 and we all share a Sony Tablet S.
Yup we quite like Android
