Default HTC Desire S Vibrate adjust?

I'm just wondering if you can actually adjust or make vibrate longer for text message notification.

Basically I just get like two short vibrate for text message notification and most of the time I can't feel it.

Try 'SMS Popup' app from the Android market. I'm using it, and you can increase the vibration length for text messages - it's pretty decent, and free!
