Default Update Software Problem - Red Triangle

It's the first time I update my HTC Desire, Android 2.3.3 Software still on 1.32.832.3, now I've been proposed to update it to 1.47.832.1

After download I start the installation, phone restarts and then I get 5 seconds of progress bar going on, but before 50% I get a red exclamation point and phone is blocked. All I can do is to remove the battery or do reset.

Anyone with the same problem? I've tried with wi-fi and 3G still the same problem. And every time it downloads the whole file again, where does the system save the file anyway?

Thanks
Raphael

One thing you can try is a soft reset, Power off phone > Remove battery for 30 seconds > Replace battery and power on phone.

You could check to see how much memory you have left on your phone (not your SD card) by Menu > Settings > SD & phone storage > Internal storage (Available space). If it's getting low, you might want to put some apps/files to your SD card in case this is impacting on how the update is installing.

I believe the OTA updates are downloaded on the /cache folder on your phone. However, you won't be able to access this unless your phone is rooted.

HTC will be bringing out a big update to the OS and Sense UI in the next few weeks. However, your current problem may prevent that unless this OTA is it. I've read reports that this software version (1.47.832.1) carries Sense 3.0. In which case, you might want to call your network provider to see what they advise.

I tried a hard reset this week and still doesn't work. Maybe I just wait for the next release...

It doesn't solve, but at least helps, when you see the triangle hold up volume and press power, so you don't need to remove the battery
