I understand that sense UI is an overlay for android, but what exactly does It include? what is sense ui and what is android?

I suppose Im asking If I rooted my phone and put stock froyo on (when available) what wouldn't be there?!

Fancy widgets and a far superior keyboard. You can install the keyboard on a rooted phone running vanilla Android but even after a year of Sense no developer has cracked the widgets.

Which fancy widgets? I thought widgets were downloaded from the ap store?

As far as I know widgets such as:

Calender
Gallery
Friendstream
News
Weather

Froyo will have the default alternatives for some of those but not Friendstream.

I'm trying to decide myself right now :-/

Not just the widgets. The homescreen and phone dialer are the biggest differences. The Sense UI is a big skin which gives the fugly Android a nice glassy black finish. Also provides some good apps like FriendSteam (Facebook & Twitter combined), Music, Photos, etc.

I wouldn't buy an Android phone without it even with some of these alternatives like LauncherPro.
