Has anybody found an app that will just let me use a numeric password to lock my Desire?

Pattern lock is a great idea, but you end up with the pattern being visible if you don't wipe it down all the time, and that drives me crazy!!

apparently, you can switch to the numeric lock in the phone's settings.

I recall something about people not being able to switch back though, so you might want to search the forum about that before you switch. I dunno if they found a way to do it because I didn't plan to turn mine off & stopped reading.

I think that is related to people using Exchange, which apparently changes the locking behaviour. I haven't seen such a setting, that's for sure.

I didn't understand how the pattern becomes visible?
I just tilt the phone towards me slightly before I unlock, so no one sees the pattern..

I think Archphoto means that you can see the swipe pattern line stain on the glass - if you have greasy fingers. I used to get this - but now I put my Desire in my pocket glass first so it's pretty much wiped clean all the time.

No I haven't been able to find a setting either. Anybody have an app they could recommend that would solve this problem?

I've had a search on AppBrain and the Market, but so far it's all been apps to lock other apps - not at all what I need. Surely locking the phone will achieve the same thing, right?

Or I can hope (in vain perhaps) that it is included in 2.2 . . . . . . .
