Default Desire screen flickering

hi,
Yesterday I updated my HTC Desire to 1.21 ....
And today I noticed that when i have the screen with more white than any other color (like the notification screen for example) the screen flickers, and it does this with little horizontal lines...

I also realized 2 things:
1. it flickers when the automatic brightness is on and I am inside (so the brightness was set to under 25%)
2. It flickers with battery fully charged once the voltage got under 4.08v, it stopped..

Has anyone seen this on the desire after the update or before? Is this normal? Is my phone faulty?

Thank you

I have also noticed the flickering, but cannot reproduce. I guess in certain scenarios it does flicker...

Are we talking noticeable flickering? Or over scrutinising the screen flickering?

Yes it's noticeable.. when an all white screens appears just like the notifications one, it looks like the lines (all white lines) are trembling showing intermittent 1 pixel black lines between them... but it just happens when the battery is fully charged and the automatic brightness is on…. If instead of being really dark I override the automatic brightness and put it more than 25% brightness the flickering disappears…

Is this normal? Or is this happening because of the damn update?

This does not sound good.

Sorry to say, as the poster below stated, this does not sound good.

I am tempted to say it sounds like hardware failure, or at least the start of hardware failure.

If still less than 28 days old, return and replace. If older, send for repair.

Sorry if I'm bumping an older thread. I've noticed this recently on my new Desire (couple of days old) and here are the steps to reproduce it:

1. Turn off 'Automatic brightness'
2. Set the brightness manually to about 1/3 (the slider is below the letters 'm' or 'a' of the above label)
3. Open any predominantly white screen (like an empty contacts group)

For me this reproduces it 90% of the time.
