147mb is right, it's the space available for apps to run. It's not the total phone memory though, there are other partitions used by the Android OS, system stuff and recovery.

Maybe we can answer this question that I get asked an aweful lot.

"How do I remove the "bloatware " that carriers put on their phones, i need the space"

The answer is simple, you won't save space as the apps that come with the phone are on the system partition and not the user partition.

As I said, I get asked a lot.
