Default New Desire isn't recognising charger

I received my new desire today and absolutely love it. Thank-you to everyone that gave me advice a few days ago!

I charged it once when i got it and all was fine

After a heavy days use it obviously needs charging again, however its not recognising charger, it still says 'connect charger''?!

Anyone got any advice?!

Sounds like your charger may be faulty,i suggest you take it back to shop or get a new one from ebay or somewhere.

Meanwhile as a temporary fix just connect your phone to your pc with the supplied usb cable and charge it that way,it takes longer but its better than nothing until you can get a new charger.

Yeh that's what I've done.

I thought i might have had to press something but after doing a bit of research sounds like this might be quite a common problem.

Annnoyed as I researched phones for 3 days then spent £400! Wasn't expecting something to go wrong on the first day! Oh well it should be under warranty

Good luck with your Desire Chopsy!!

I'm having the same problem as you at the moment with it not charging, however I've had mine for 18 months. All this means though is 18 months of problems, like headset socket not working, camera and speakerphone failing and various other minor niggles! In fact its just come back from a warranty repair and all was fine - almost - for a few weeks and now this charging issue! :-(
Looking forward to saying bye bye to HTC and going back to good old Nokia or Samsung.

Desire is just a very expensive paperweight!
