HTC Desire Tethering with Mac

Waiting patiently for the Android 2.2 Update !

Which is delayed for the Orange Uk Network.

Will I be able to tether my Macbook pro wirelessly to my HTC Desire (ORange UK network - unlimited data plan) running android 2.2 (using the the HTC as a portable wi-fi hotspot)?

Or perhaps part of the reasons for the delay in the issue of this android update is that the tel networks will prohibit the use of using the HTC like this.

Yes it's possible and it's extremely easy to set up and connect as well. Obviously the speeds aren't great but that may be a problem with my handset/internet strength.

As Tye says the wireless hotspot in Android 2.2 works well and I easily attached my Mac to the HTC Desire's hotspot.

The USB tethering has so far defeated me. It is asking for account and password information and my valid phone provider login information does not seem to work. Any ideas?
