Pre-order HTC Desire from T-Mobile UK from Monday @ NOON!
I was on the t-mobile forums before, and it was confirmed that NEW T-MOBILE CUSTOMERS can pre-order the HTC Desire from NOON on MONDAY! The phone will then be released on Friday 26th.
If you are currently with TMob (Like me), then you have to wait until Friday to upgrade (if you're due an upgrade).
I phoned customer services to ask about this, and she said that at launch they'll have around 700 handsets!! Seems very low to me!! She said they'll get more stock though as soon as the 700 go.
I'm not sure what to do, to be honest. I don't know whether to upgrade with TMob in April, or whether to go with Vodafone?
Anybody got any opinions on who is the better network between TMob and Voda?

I've seen T-mobile contracts for this phone on a different website , but it says release W/C 5th April . Since T-mobile get theirs in on the 26th March do you think these deals will be the same , as the later release ? It would make sense (well to me anyway) that a website selling the phones on the same network would be the same as buying direct from the official carrier ?
I just need to find the number of my nearest t-mobile store and they can expect calls around the clock ....
I think the 26th is direct with T-mobile or their stores.
Their resellers are likely to be later. Remember how many handsets are only available direct. Carphone warehouse still dont list many new arrivals such as the Galaxy Portal. That came out in Jan!
Went in to my local store last Sunday and asked about it. The young girl serving (well standing around looking at her nails) turned to the manager and said "flippin eck, everyone wants one of these".
Shame I'm out of contract with T-Mobile and I don't get first dibs. Going to be straight on to retentions when I can. Wish they still had 12 month deals though.
It's been a long journey since I got my HTC canary (SPV).
Does anyone know if I can preorder one then switch my number from o2 once I have received the phone and started the contract?
I don't want to be without a phone for a week but I want to transfer my o2 number over and I want to preorder. What do I do!?
When you're ordering there should be a box to say something about your current network . You'll need your pac key from O2 to give to your new contract provider . Once that's done they should take care of it . I asked about what happens during the intermission period between networks and they said your number remains active .
I just called up T-mobile . The lady I spoke to confirmed the pre-order for tomorrow and that it'll be released by the end of the month (26th March) . Unfortunately they said no contracts will be displayed tomorrow , and will only be shown on the Friday .
Ordering over the telephone is apparently quicker then online ,where a Saturday delivery is guaranteed if you order on the Friday , while the internet you would get the phone around Wednesday .
Sounds good to me , hopefully their deals can compete with other websites .

I'd stick with T-Mo, for one simple reason. The UK coverage will be brilliant when T-Mo merges with Orange. Imagine no radio signal from T-Mo in one particular area, but strong signal from Orange, so any T-Mo users will be able to use Orange masts once the merger takes place (April 2010).
For now I dont think we'll see any difference until they finally merge customer bases, plans etc.
HOPEFULLY we'll get the best of Tmobile with added bits like Orange weds, and not silly branding Orange riddles devices with.
T-mobile is often the 1st choice of ex orange customers. I know so many that finally ditched Orange 2-3 years ago for t-mobile and are much happier for it.
Hey, new here. Just ordered this phone on T-Mobile for £15pm for 24months + £95 for the phone (£130 minus £35 via topcashback.co.uk) so £455. This is equivalent to £25pm for 18months + a free phone!!
Absolute Bargain if you ask me considering this is possibly the best phone on the market at the moment.

Nah, T-Mobile offers a handset for £164 with £10pm (which gives you Unlimited Internet and SMS Texts, with 100 inclusive minutes Calltime) for 24 months contract. This works out to £404! That's cheaper than £455!!

I am going for this.
I think of it as buying a £400 phone and it costs me £4 for the 2 years of credit.

LOL, that's true. One way of putting it that way. Yeah. Mind you, some people may prefer more calltime minutes than the 100 minutes per month. That's up to them.

Well thats good if you dont ring anyone but i needed 300mins. So im getting an extra 200mins for roughly £2 extra a month over 24months.
Also unlimited texts booster is useless as im not going to be using more than 300. I think the unlimited calls to t-mobile offers much better value.

I agree, but I am profoundly deaf, so the use of inclusive call minutes are useless to me (useful for emergencies for any of my hearing friends), hence the unlimited texts are suited to me.

Does anyone elses had that ?
When I did order online via t-mobile site as it stated total to pay is £164.00 but never metion £2.00 fee ?
What a cheek of t-mobile and I am going to ring them to give my £2.00 fee back!
It says this on the T-Mob website when you are filling in your details and before you check out.
"To verify your card and billing address we'll charge £2 to your card and then refund it straight away. This important check helps protect you and makes sure your order goes through smoothly."
It's fair enough, that being said mine hasn't been refunded yet.
I expect it will be though.

Good luck with the "300 mins" deal.
This is why T-mobile are offering great deals because of the unlimited internet + flexible booster. My girlfriend will be getting a t-mobile sim only which is why unlimited t-mobile calls is most usefull to me.
I hope they stick to their promise and deliver by 1pm sat!
Bad news folk !!!! T-Mobile manager had now been confirmed that all new HTC Desire headset with 4Gb memory card in the box will sent out this Friday but will not be delivery for saturday, it will be delivery on monday as they don't delivery weekend because of costy and dearer! unless you pay £12.00 for special delivery for next day (saturday) they say they will refund me £2.00 back within 3-5 working days as this £2.00 charge is for credit check.

No, I am not joking sadly! I will not pay £12 for special delivery for satuday - why should I ?
Nah, it's not true.
I've been intouch with them and this isn't policy. They did mention that people calling for the first time late on Friday might have to pay extra, but if you have already put your name down for an order and callback on Friday to process the order, it's Saturday with no extra charge.

They won't deliver to an address that isn't your billing address
I'm renting but only at this address for another few months so don't want to change my bank address over but don't want to have to wait for it to be delivered to my parents house then get them to send it on
Just been on phone to a 3rd party retailer and htc have told all their suppliers that they will recieve stock on the same day so hopefully i'll get mine monday, fingers crossed
Rang T-Mobile today. Confirmed that they will send out the HTC Desire on Friday for those whose pre-ordered this handset. When asked what postal service they'll be using, they said, it's a standard Royal Mail Recorded Delivery (Next Day) - not the specialised "SATURDAY DELIVERY" service. So, basically, it's similiar to first class stamp on a normal post. Post it on a Friday. Hopefully, it'll arrive on Saturday. If not, it'll be Monday. The only difference is that it requires a signature upon receipt.
Hope that helps?
So, for me, let's hope Royal Mail will deliver it on a Saturday!!! I'll watch out for the postie!

Sheesh, I was hoping for saturday delivery so i have a few days to play with it before holiday.
If it doesn't arrive til monday I can see me spending all night setting up my Desire and playing with it instead of packing to fly on Tuesday morning. lol.
Just had a call from T-Mobile to say there is a stock delay and they won't be getting them till the 31st March.
Find out if she is lying tomorrow because it was a different person who I spoke to last after ringing back to give different details and change tariff.
Really fed up with t-mobile kept telling us all different stories, some say saturday, some say delaying, some say monday or tuesday. Also some say 4gb memory in the box, some say 8gb memory in the box, some say no memory including.
If it delay until April or late, maybe I cancel it and buy online next day sim-free headset ?
