Default Replaced desire digitizer, now screen stays blank (phone turns on though)

Hi folks,

I just replaced the digitizer today and the phone turns on (I can hear the startup song) but the screen just stays black. I mean it doesn't turn on at all.

I've checked the connectors and disconnected and reconnected them many times.

Anybody have an idea what could be the problem?

Thanks

You just changed the digitiser, not the screen as well?

Just the digitizer... I bought the whole front cover of the Desire with digitizer included to make it easier. LCD didn't need replacement.

Hmm, that eliminates the one software explanation I could think of.

If there's not even a splash screen when you first power it my guess would be hardware, one way or another.
