Rooted? Stock? Any wifi apps? Does wifi work with other stuff? Laptops for example.

More details the better.

I had been using the phone all along with wifi. Laptops are working away fine. I tried a few wifi fix apps and no solution. When i try to turn on the desire wifi it just says turning on for about a minute and then goes to error. The usb tethering option does not light up either. Someone suggested it could be an antenna problem. Also noticed that my wifi mac address is unavailable.

Hmmmmm, I'm not sure, I'm kinda at a loss.
Short of a factory reset i don't know.
Bare in mind though, I don't know an awful lot about the workings of wifi.
