Default External GPS antenna for Smart phone (HTC desire)

Hi all
As you might guess from previous posts I suffer from a poor and intermittent GPS on my phone and wonder if you can but external GPS antenna’s similar to one you would connect to PDAs.
If so any recommendations?
Many thanks for your time
Regards
Mike

You can try a Bluetooth receiver and pair the phone with that. You also need apps that support Bluetooth GPS. I believe battery life MAY be a little better this way, but you will have to get a receiver that powers from batteries if you are going walking/jogging/cycling etc, rather than one that powers up from a car cigarette lighter socket. Sorry, can't recommend any models as I have never tried this, try google and see what it throws up..

My wife is out at the moment with my old HTC Desire, but from memory it doesn't have an input specifically for a GPS receiver/antenna.

Unrevoked and the google fix is a lot cheaper (free)

Yes, an external GPS with BT interface ... my choice would be Garmin
Garmin portable GPS + glonass receiver
