really? i'm finding it to be pretty poor quality, very pixelly and with a definite lag. I tried in low and high quality too. I'm on Orange and have got a good signal here at work too. Haven't tried it over wi-fi yet.

excellent news.
It's a good day for tv on the HTC Desire.
On the app market - there's a new app called myPlayer (I think it's new anyway -I haven't seen it before)
Seems to be a pretty good iplayer app

myPlayer - link to www.skynetsoftware.com

I've had good quality but even though I'm on WiFi which is very close it tells me that I have a weak signal and stops, a tad bit annoying, I'm going to try in other areas.

On T-Mobile by the way.

Working fine here over wifi although it took a while to sign up. I assume they have been hammered when this went public.

mine won't work on 3g either - vodafone user.

Same with yamgo. Altho this does work on wifi but not 3g. Just can't test TVcatchup out on wifi as at work.

Vodafone are tossers

just checking with vodafone and they have just asked me to restart the phone without the sim - this has done nothing.

I am still onto them now.....

Am getting unable to connect to server, but seems to be working brilliantly on PC. I am wondering if their servers are getting a hammering of people watching the SA vs Mexico game on tv catchup and launching this on the same day!

Just managed to get it streaming and I have to say the quality is great (not perfect, but good!) It's comparable to the desktop browser version of TVC and certainly FAR superior to Yamgo or the old BeebPlayer live streams...

Looks basically the same as the iPhone app but browser based instead. Yamgo was a good substitution, but not a patch on TVC!

Still can't load anything.

Are you using the stock browser? if so would you mind giving me a quick round up of your settings please?

At least that way, I can replicate them and when I finally do (or not) get on, I know its not my settings.

Edit> Have you got a desire or a hero?

I get the same error on wifi and H. I just wanted to get Bunjiweb's settings from him to cause he has had it working. If I replicate teh settings, I should then have a set up that works.

I think that the issues people may be experiencing (if connecting by wifi) are mostly server/ISP side. The SA vs Mexico game has finished now so there's likely to be people logging off.

yeah, when i try connecting it comes with a message 'unable to connect to server'. Will try afterwards and see if it is because of overloading. If yes, will connect to TV 1h before kickoff next time

Does Orange give you the full 7Mb/sec HSDPA mode? I didn't think so, but I could be wrong. If I'm right, your data rate over 3G might only be 384Kb/sec - which is rather slow for video streaming.
