I have the black silicon case from Verizon which I picked up when I got my too good to believe DNA last Wednesday....... why.....?....... just seemed like I should...... but since have been running naked since....... which is what I will be probably continue....... but worried about not just dropping the beauty but also...... can the back black surface get scratches?
Never been a fan of cases and particularly with this slender beast..... but did see an Otterbox on line today which looked, for the usually beasty Otterbox series, slim - called the Commuter - have anyone have it yet??
I've used the commuter cases before for both the iPhone 4/s/5 and for the GS3, and for an otterbox they are pretty slim. They will be thicker than most cases but they will protect the phone.
I actually really like the otterbox commuter cases. I'm waiting in one with more color though.

I too bought the black silicone case from verizon and also a screen protector. I put an otterbox on my rezound w/o a screen protector and it got scratched up. I'm not taking the chance even with the gorilla glass.
I am using the Verizon shell/holster case with a kickstand. Fairly slim. I used one on my INC2 until the kickstand broke. As careful as I try to be, I have dropped my phones and the case saved my past phones many times.
Different question, does anyone know if the wireless charging pad will charge through a case? I would hate to always take it out of the case to charge.

I'm hoping SGP releases a Neo Hybrid case for the DNA.
I think I've tried just about every case out there at one time or another and that was by far the best. Unfortunately it fits so well, the small difference between the VZ GNex and international version was enough that it didn't line up correctly.
For a dual layer case, it was even thinner than your basic TPU or silicone case.
For $15 shipped I just bought one. I didn't really want a case, but the camera sits so flush I worry about the wear on the lens without a case. Plus if I do drop it, the case will help a bit!
Next...do I get a screen protector...It looks so great without one!! Anyone going to go naked with the screen with the Gorilla Glass 2?
Looks great for $12.50....like all the other DNA offerings a drill bit will be needed to make a hole for the rear notification LED! Amazing the case mfgrs miss the LED its so stealth
Go with the otterbox commuter when it becomes available at a good price. I bought tpu one on ebay for a buck for my maxx and waited and got my otterbox commuter brand new and shipped for 14. It has really good protection but the plastic shell is a bit slippery at first.
Just received my Otterbox Defender. It definitely makes the whole package bigger! Don't know if I'll keep it at that size, but the DNA naked is right at the limits of "big" for me (came from an OG Incredible), so any case would probably make the phone feel too large.
My main issue so far is the built-in screen protector, which (on my example anyway) really inhibits the response of the screen. I have an iPhone 4S for work and the Defender on it has great screen response, so maybe I just got a bad one.

Got my case yesterday. Doesn't add much weight at all, and a bit of thickness to the back. I'll use it for a while until some of the other ones come out...if I can find something that is even thinner I might go that route. I love the DNA naked, but just can't stand the thought of all the wear and tear it would take without a case...especially the camera since it is so flush with the back.
This looks promising. What phones have you used this one before? Any pictures you can post?
I've basically used Diztronic cases for all of my phones in the last year or so...
Most recently the GS3 and shhhhh iPhone 5...lol
Honestly though, they're cases are on the money, and the owner is on top of customer support if any is ever needed...
Either visit they're site or check them out on they're Amazon Store.
Good luck

While going Naked is always fun, one drop can lead to all that fun coming to a very quick end. Rock a case, it's like a seat belt for your phone.

You have made clear for me that while running naked can be (quite) fun better judgement must prevail...... just ordered my Diztronics case....... next up is the best Nokia vertical charging stand..... just for the form factor fun
Ditztronic case for me. I've already dropped the phone twice (GASP). Once while in a seated position it slipped out of my robe pocket and the other time my darling (grrrr!) Bengel cat decided it was a hockey puck while sitting on my dresser. Phone emerged 100% unscathed from both assaults but that was enough to convince me that I may not be so lucky if there's a third time. No way, however, am I putting anything between myself and that wonderful screen! At $12.50 on Amazon I don't see how you can go wrong with the Ditztronic case.

Always more funnnn! But yes, with these expensive toys...protection from a case is always best!
Enjoy, and yes I love the form factor of the Nokia charging station.

Just put my beasty beauty DNA into my beautiful black brand new Diztronic case........really like it a lot - very sleek and very nice - does not add to the size of the phone at all - slender form factor the same - as a prior member commented the back of the case is a bit slick and therefore slippery but otherwise great - also the top of the case has a nice overlay on the power button which makes it a bit more responsive - very happy with this case And it charges wirelessly with the case on on both my flat LG charging pad next to bed and my Nokia DT - 910 vertical wireless charging stand
Anyone thought to ask Diztronic if they will add a hole for the rear notification light?
That rear notification light on the DNA is wonderful and an unexpected and seldom seen feature these days ..... that's coming from a BlackBery guy from years ago when you could land a 747 on the illumination from those BB notification lights......
I am so impressed with this case ......if the back let that notification light shine through it would be a 10.....as it is the case is a 9.9
I bought the Otterbox as an "in between" case until the Siedo's are released.
Hopefully my phone shows up on Monday! I risked a little by going to a small store with little foot traffic knowing I didn't need it today. Spread the purchases to the little guys too. Hopefully it wont burn me.
OK you guys seem to have the bases covered for caes. I'm still naked with my DNA but have heard about 2 folks with drops that cracked the screen.
Has a case been found yet with all the proper cut outs even the hidden notification light on the back that is very light weight and true to form for the DNA?
Alright, so many 5 star reviews tells me the Diztronic is worth a try. I guess I can always get a drill bit for the back notification light.
Yeah, a simple drill bit and 15 seconds worth of drilling and you're good to go. The Ditztronic is great in that it really doesn't alter the form facvtor of the phone and gives you a great feeling of protection. Now, when you put it down on a table you don't have to feel like you're handling the Hope diamond. Nice case at an amazing price.

Have you been watching how I am with my phone!? (Looks around for hidden camera )
I really like Seidio cases, but I'm disappointed they don't seem to be making the Active case without the stupid kickstand. I don't want that hump on the back that houses the kickstand. At this point though, I'd settle for anything. Bring on the cases!

Oh man, say it isn't so. I don't need the kickstand! Got my otterbox today; no screen protector. *sigh* They are shipping out another whole unit and I am to call if it doesnt come with this one too. So I will have a duplicate outer hard shell and silicon Commuter cover.
Got my Diztronic case today....drilled hole after some quick eyeballing and its awesome. Fits like a glove, no visible mold lines, feels like same texture as the back of the phone. $12.50+2.50 shipping way nicer than anything for 20-30 at direct store.
#1. Even if it was $20-25 id buy it no hesitation.
#2. It makes the vague power/volume buttons perfect feel now.

Love what this case does to make the top power button into a responsive feature.....worried about drilling a hole for the back notification light.....no perforations on the back cover ??
Device(s): HTC Droid DNA, iPAD 3 (yes I know :-) , I have a XOOM too)
Carrier: Verizon

I got mine too. It's OK. It's a pretty good, plain, sturdy black case I would say.
I find that using the DNA buttons is actually about the same in overall usefulness with and without the case to be honest. I can FEEL the buttons more easily, but they seem to require more pressure to respond IMO. So for that part,I don't see any huge improvement, though I appear to be alone in this. The Verizon gel cover makes the button presses much easier than this case IMO, others may disagree.
Overall? It's a pretty good case I would say. And for $12.50 it is hard to go wrong. But it is not the be-all, end-all of cases for me ...

Got my Ditztronic case finally, and pretty pleased with it. Although it does not play well with my Zagg Screen protector. It wants to bunch up the edge of it when I try to install it. Was not fun but I finally got it on, by using a credit card to hold down the screen protector while I slid the case on each corner, then pulled the card out so the screen protector is sandwiched between the glass and case along the edges.
I received mine in about 8 days and I have to tell you for $3.99 this case is amazing! Fits my DNA like a clove and the smoke case shows the notification light on the back for those of you who what this without drilling your case. I bought the black one and it feels and looks great.

HTC has broken the boundaries again with the DROID DNA. This 5-inch behemoth comes to compete directly with the Galaxy Note 2, but what gives it the edge over the popular Samsung device? Well, this guy has a full HD 1080p display. Mix that with a p... Read More
