Does LG wireless charging = hot temp??

Love the convenience of wireless charging charging using the LG pad but my DNA gets quite warm when left for a long charge - pretty warm to touch on back of phone mid way and up to top of the phone. Is this normal for wireless charging?? Is it causing damage to internals or the battery??

Not a fan of these wireless chargers and thankfully HTC provided a pretty long cable so you can charge and still use the phone comfortably. the charging port on the phone is designed to trickle charge after the battery hits 100%, meaning it barely does anything. I am not sure if these wireless chargers are set up the same way. If not and you are leaving in on the charger for an extended period of time, I dont think that would be too good for the phone or the battery. Especially if its getting hot.

I bought the Nokia 910 charging stand, no temp issues at all. Recommended.

Pricey. Got it from the Microsoft store for 69, att and vzw were both sold out. The m$ rep had a $25 off $75 coupon so I bought a $10 USB stick. They should be cheaper once that phone flops (spring?).

So just to be double dog sure...... the DNA will fit the NOKIA stand...... vertically...... and charge....... good to know...... wasn't sure the DNA would charge standing vertically, on this NOKIA

I haven't noticed any extra heat when I take mine off the LG charger. But I will check closer tonight...

Same here. No heat issues whatsoever on the 910. I have a few of these with the same results.

Since you have one, quick question for you: Mine charges fine with the screen off, but quite slowly with the screen on (like a night time clock mode) with this charger . Are you seeing the same?

Mine gets hot. I contacted my local Verizon store where I purchased both my wireless pads. They told me it was common and not to worry about it........ That being said, Verizon folks don't really know any more than I do..... lol

My old LG Spectrum 2 did not heat up at all with the VZW LG WCP-700 wireless charger pad. My old LG Spectrum 2 was also very forgiving with respect to placement on the charging pad.

My new DNA definitely gets warm after a long charge on the LG WCP-700. It also beeps every 5 min constantly if the DNA is not placed exactly correct on the pad. Is this a compatibility problem? Very disappointed with the charging coming from my supposedly inferior LG Spectrum 2.

This has been a concern of mine since I got the Nokia wireless charger but I'm just going to use it and if the battery gets destroyed, I'll have to get a new one. I have insurance and a dead battery is covered. When I take it off the charger in the morning the phone feels cool.

Running 3.7 volts with my Fatboy Charging Pillow (the Nokia 910 w/ a cloth cover) and my DNA is currently at 108!
The temp rose 4 degrees over 10 min with the phone charging while off.

Do I need a degree in non-ionizing radiation to understand whats happening?

Is there some correlation with overheating and distance between the phone and the pad (or plate, or pillow)?
Correlation with other electronic devices around the pad? Wires under the couch?

I have the LG charger. Does it get a little warm? Yes. Does it get hot? No. Also, it's relatively easy to remove the internal speaker on the LG charger to eliminate the beeping during charging issue. Not something I anticipated having to do, but once the money was spent there was no turning back.
