Default Thoughts on my battery life?

heres a few screenshots from the last few days with various type of usage im just wondering if im seeing normal battery life

ive noticed that when im just texting for a bit or doing something else for a few min each percent seems to drop off pretty fast..i dont know if its because my last phone was in the 10 percent increments and im not use to it or if i have something draining my battery faster then it should

firstly this is what i have my brightness set to at all times dont know if its better to leave it this low or put it on auto..i dont like it to bright right now cause i have some eye issues

so the following 3 are with very light usage for the most part except for when i first woke up, sorry for the ringer toggle on the last didnt think there was a need to retake it

and these were taken earlier into the day but because it seemed like i was draining it faster and i would say this was moderate usage

if any other details are needed to really see if theres an issue please let me know and i will post

Your battery drain seems about like mine, but my usage is much higher so I don't even get a full day.

Wow! You must be a super-heavy user! If I use mine for what I consider heavy usage, I get at least 13 hours. As for moderate use, it last all day; literally 16 hours or more. Also, I don't turn off wifi, gps, auto dim the display or none of that other crap. It's supposed to be a smartphone available for me to use at my leisure. I do have a Morphie backup battery pack, just in case I get stuck in the airport without access to a outlet but I've rarely had to use it.

Here's my battery usage for today, I've played a few games, watched a few YouTube videos, email, Facebook, etc... You get the point.

I've had it for a couple weeks now. Battery life has been ok I have the note 2 and obviously does not come close to mimicking those results. Here is some of my results today I took it of charge at 7am its now 430 and I'm at 46 percent and that is with light usage and everything on. It never last me a whole day. Some reason I feel like I got better battery life on the s3 but not by much. I didn't get a wireless charging pad yet, but I bet that would make all the difference at work that you coul drop it on there every now and then and get some juice to get you through the day. If your going to be taking a lot of pictures this phone think again!

The phone's battery is surprisingly decent - not outstanding but good enough. Now if one is a power centric masher only the mighty 3100 mAh would do the trick. When I become that power user.....which happens occasionally......my svelt slim beautiful New Trent I-pulse 10,000 mAh external batery pack becomes indispensable. However ..... the wireless Qi charging may be ( after the rock'in screen and dual core ) the single most surprising and pleasant hardware feature of the mighty DNA.

I never thought it would be so much of a big deal but I rock two Nokia DT wireless standing chargers and one LG wireless pad and toss the phone on these at home and at my offices whenever I am actually doing what I am supposed to ( besides playing on my oh so lovely DNA ) ......I never thought QI wireless charging would be such a efficient cool feature IMHO......I love it

As for the camera I know nothing about such things but the pics I have taken seem to be quite wonderful

My first full day with the DNA I was working. I got 12 hours 9 minutes out of it. I put it on the charger at 19%.

I run with everything on as I am constantly in and out of my truck and the bluetooth automatically connects, I leave the GPS on for searching etc.

I used 1h 12m of calls

Somehow the camera used 35% of the battery, and I barely used it. I think I took 2 pictures.

I hope it gets a little better, I need to see what I can tweak.

If you shut down the camera after you use it, you will get a lot more battery life. I found that its a huge drain even when its "off". When I am done using my camera I go to settings\battery\usage and select camera and stop it there and I have gained a bunch of battery life.

I leave my GPS on all the time (minus the Verizon one). I run with full email (three accounts). I stream radio all day (off of wireless mind you) and I can get two days out of it. However I dont talk much on my phone but I do create over 3K texts a month.

Two days is a lot. I don't see how you get that much.

I don't even make a full 24 hours with moderate usage. I'm not complaining though. I can get through my work day using the phone as much as I want basically and not have to worry about the battery being a problem. That's good enough for me.

One thing to note though is that periodically restarting your phone is a good thing. One day my battery was draining really fast for no apparent reason. I went to check the battery settings and there were just a ton of processes running that I wasn't even using. I restarted my phone and the difference was pretty dramatic.

I spend a lot of time watching what runs, how it runs and what doesn't shut off. As I compile my work code it gives me more play time with my phone to observe and tweak. I have disabled a lot of junk that runs box stock that shows up in task managers. I use the task manager primarily to figure out what is running without me launching it. My big discovery this week was the dog gone camera.

I slow up email sent/receives during sleep hours and make sure most things dont run until 15 minutes before I get up. I do a lot of hand manipulation of some things until I finish writing my NFC tags. Then it will simply be a bump to do a lot of the radio manipulation. Blue tooth always one chews more juice than one would suspect.

I dont game on my phone. I dont YouTube on my phone (well, rarely) and I dont watch videos on my phone. I use my phone primarily as an extension of my work. So its texts and emails with some phone calls. I do stream about 4-6 hours a day from Spotify right now. If I do a couple hours of internet browsing I dont get two days...more like 1.5 to 1.25.

Gotta say 2.5 days and I'm still a bit disappointed. I would not even consider myself a power user.

Something kept your phone awake for almost two solid hours between four and six pm.

Listening to mp3's is probably the reason for the awake state. I could easily do that with my old Thunderbolt... it was awake with the screen off. I did nothing different than I have with that phone.

People here are talking about streaming music for hours and having it still last all day.

auto brightness actually dosn't help save battery. I have my Moto. electrify set to the lowest setting, and get much better battery life because of it.

This.

This is also one of the many things I have tinkered with. For my eyes, while not "eye popping" 25% screen brightness is more than adequate.

And yes I stream music, via WiFi, 4-6 hours a day.

HTC has broken the boundaries again with the DROID DNA. This 5-inch behemoth comes to compete directly with the Galaxy Note 2, but what gives it the edge over the popular Samsung device? Well, this guy has a full HD 1080p display. Mix that with a p... Read More
