Default What exactly does a factory reset do?

I'm having weird issues with my phone (browser crashing, wifi not automatically connecting, etc). I'm wanting to try a factory reset but not sure exactly what it will do. I understand it will remove my applications, but will remove other applications that were installed as part of HTC and verizon? Such as HTC sense, etc? Will I need to call up verizon and get them to reconfigure my phone after a reset? Thanks.

Provided you arent rooted and running custom roms, a factory reset will put the phone back exactly how it was when you got it, ie factory condition. any preinstalled apps from htc and verizon will still be there, ie sense, but none of your apps will be. you will also have to set your phone back up for the gmail and google accounts just as you did when you got the phone.

it resets to the factory settings, like it just came out of the box.
