I really do miss the good ole days... I was a major Eris geek. I will always love and defend that phone, she was my first! But now I have my DInc and I haven't even rooted it or anything . Lame I know. Got obsessed with other stuff (babies! Omg!)... phone geekdome kind of took a back seat. Although I still am the Android Expert in my circle of friends and family. They literally call on me for "phone therapy" haha.
She's still kicking around in a drawer somewhere but sadly, semi-bricked . I was going to pass her on to my hubby when I got my DInc, tried the "un-root" and messed up the radio part of it. Spent a whole day trying to bring it back, but no luck. Wifi still works, but God it is sloooow. I'll probably preserve it for my kid as an artifact to laugh at when they're playing with their Incredible 300 or whatever in 2025. Ha!
Good to see you all!

Nah, I only miss the Eris community here, which has dispersed for the most part; the phone is not truly missed.
I think the Eris and OG Droid Forums were what really made AndroidForums what it was back in 2009 and early 2010.
There were definitely a number of cool cats in this part of the wood. I just learnt of Android and started learning the various phone models. Stumbled upon AF and the Eris forum was the most active (well that or the OG Droid).
I enjoyed the Eris forum so much that I secretly wanted an Eris so I could be part of the community, lol. I ended up getting a Nexus One XD
Good to see that the little Eris is still kicking for some of you peeps

LOL, I still bust-out my Eris and do little rooting experiments and research (I think I've learned more about it after I got my Droid X than I did when it was my day-to-day phone ).
I really wished I had signed-up and posted sooner than I did here at AF, but I trolled from the second week of November when I got my little Eris until I first registered about four months later. I really felt that I knew all of the folks from all of the threads that I read.
I also had a cool experience at work this past week: I noticed a co-worked nonchalantly flipping his phone up in the air and catching while I talked with him. I finally realized he had an Eris! I was like, dude, is it rooted? Well, a few days later it was (and overclocked ). Took me all of 10 minutes, LOL.

Roze,
While I was writing the previous post, I was trying to remember where I first saw you... I think it was here in the Eris forums and you mentioned that you were getting a Nexus One and I was a little jealous.

It was in the Eris "Must have apps" thread and we were talking about book reading apps.
Good memories!
haha, wow, I can't believe you remember my post from over a year ago and actually found my post in that thread!!! Cableguynoe showed me that thread when I told him in the 'Free word association' thread that I was looking for some good apps, lol.
Not sure if you remember the Dock contest thread. But hands down the BEST thread in the Eris forum. Best Homemade Eris Dock CONTEST.
There was also the pay it forward thread...though someone told me that it might be in the OG Droid Forum, lol. That was a sweet thread too.

LOL, it was bugging me until I did a little Google searching ...I was happy to find it, too .
I miss Noe! (he's still around, though...we hear from him occasionally. Hey, Noe, whassup ole buddy?).
I actually missed the dock contest thread, but I just read through the first page...most of the images don't show-up , but I saw enough to see that there were some very creative entries.
Cheers!

lol, with so many other OT threads. I was tempted to move them when I was a Guide and the Eris FINALLY got its subforums...but I saw how many OT threads there were so, decided to leave it for the next person, lol.

Going from living and working online to not having any internet access at all for 8 months is horrible. I don't recommend it to anyone. I just started using my phone again.
It is pretty straight forward actually. We moved to Colorado and the house we found was on the side of this beautiful mountain. Amazing view and really nice house that we chose to rent for the first year we were out there. We didn't realize at the time that the house had no cable/DSL hook up because of location and that the area had ZERO cell coverage from anyone. We hooked up satellite for TV, froze hour cell accounts and have been living offline for the past 8 or 9 months. I've been playing poker for a living and my lovely SO has been enjoying her dream job. We broke the lease for the other house last month and moved to Northeastern Colorado which is closer to her office and allows us all some digital comforts. I miss my 30 Mbps connection in Atlanta, but 8 is better than nothing. The 3g coverage is pretty horrible here, but we do have LTE now so I'm really excited about all the new phone VZW has coming along.

I dunno! I've spent enough time in Colorado to find myself stuck in a few of those technology free vortexes...
